mosins all dried up?

Corwin Arms currently has a 1936 Tula Hex receiver for $415. The hex receivers are pre-war and tend to be a better than average Mosin.
 
At 1 hour after opening last Sat, Edmonton Area gun show had 5 MN at 4 vendors. 2M44"s @ $550, $650 (unfired since arsenal) and 3 91/30's . All matching, 1939 Izzy unfired since arsenal went home with me @ $300. Last 2 were $200 and $450, non matching #'s

Problem is not the receiver form. When German troops enter Russia almost all military production was relocated or working intense to refill the lost of army in the first combats. When you are rushing forget about the quality. That is why 1941-1945 Russia produced millions of MN.
 
350 usd at Cabelas in Oregon when I was passing through a couple weeks ago. Seemed like the usual quality, some gems and some rougher examples, mostly the later. I did see a Finn refurb with heavy stock repairs.

Sales guy said they got a bunch from somewhere as a one of deal, he was surprised to hear what they go for up here. I didn't tell him what SVT and SKS rifles cost.
 
Literally just came on here to ask the same thing. I've seen a bunch of mosins over the last year for around $200... Now that I'm looking to buy one I can't seem to find one in decent shape for under 400. :(
 
I picked up a 91/30 a while back through EE. But I noticed that some of the aftermarket parts are drying up too. I had a hard time finding an ATI scope mount as they were discontinued.

Same thing with the Schmidt Rubins. I'm pretty sure Wholesale Sports was selling them for $300 and now they are $500 minimum. I kick myself for not picking one up then. I figured I'd get one later.
 
The crappy tire here in Wallaceburg, ON had at least two Mosin's on display sitting around $190. That being said, this was at least a year ago. I honestly haven't noticed what they carry recently They keep the display locked up tighter than a gnats arse.
I am of the mind that these small rural CT stores in SW Ontario may have a few kicking around. Doubtful that they would be $190, but I can always remain hopeful.

if you find one, buy it and i will give you another 50 on top at that price lol
 
I got a bunch of them a few years back when Westrifle has a Mosin/ammo combo. If you bought a bunch of 203gr soft points, you could get the Mosin rifle for 75 bucks. I bought a lot of soft point ammo that year. Still have some in the grease. :)
 
They're definitely starting to dry up. They're fun guns, but really not worth the price anymore when you can save up an extra $200-300 and buy a new Howa or used Tikka.
I can't even find a junk-tier Mosin to chop up for fun, they're all too expensive.

I think most people who shoot milsurps, do it largely to appreciate the history.
 
Why on earth is Westrifle charging $700 for a nugget? I get that the importer stopped bringing them into canada but surely that price is ludicrous.
