Front objective supposed to be threaded and unscrew?

Hello

I have a bushnell tactical elite and as I was taking off my butler creek cap noticed that
Infront of the bushnill elite brand ring on objective that it could unthread..is this normal? Never noticed before and why would you want to unscrew there?

If you mean the internal threads inside the objective lens flange,it can be used for screw-in sun shade extensions and/or filters. Finding one that fits is no easy task.

No not the inside threads where u would screw in sun shade..outside behind the elite tactical brand ring..it looks like if I thread all way off you would just be left with objective lens exposed

The outer ring is an end cap.
Like a beer bawttle cap.
There is an inner ring that is adjustable to set yer parallax.
Prefurrably set at the factory ...........................................but
sum chewse tuh set it up their way.

I have a side paralax adjustment. It looks like if i unthread all way ocular lens will be able to get removed...which I assume would leave no nitrogen in scope?

If you unscrew the front cap that most scopes have, you'll expose the threads of the objective lens carrier. That carrier is threaded in the scope tube and is how they put it together in the first place. Parallax can be adjusted that way.

As to why you would want to take it apart; you probably don't. You can also take off the ocular housing at the other end, and again you probably don't want to do that either.


That's the trouble with this world, not enough couriousity. I recommend that everyone should take their scopes apart.

You can screw the ocular assembly (or defuzzifier) back and forth quite a bit, from all the way in to all the way out until it either hits s limiter and stops or comes off in your hand and rolls under the couch. That's how you focus the crosshairs.

Tighten it back down and leave it alone. If you are not going to use the scope for a while, send it in to Bushnell and have their technicians check it over and make sure it is okay.
