view from my back door this morning

mule deer, black bears and cougars frequent my backyard on a regular basis , as do the odd moose in winter time.
Had to repair the fences on both sides of the property from a big blackie coming thru a couple weeks ago. crushed the wire fence on one side when he entered and took out a 6 foot section of the high wooden fence on the other side. My neighbors apple tree was the real victim though.... damn bear musta been up in that tree all night and ripped the hell out of it LOL

I have been letting the dogs (rottweillers) clear the yard before I head out there in the mornings and evenings lately as spring and fall bring the cats and bears around.

We see the occasional moose and bear, and often geese (fall season) and some turkeys in our back yard at our home in the country. At our home in the city, there are deer in our back yard almost daily.

I've never seen a bear with cubs in the yard though. Nice to see once as long as they move on.

Its great to see the animals. Im not a bear hunter. I do respect them and love seeing them while i hunt other game. I have come across a few over the years. Usually they hightail it away and dont bother us too much.

The bears will leave when the apples are gone. We had a good crop this year. They are out there every evening, and frequently at any time of day. I put the run on them if they get too friendly.
You really have to watch where you walk when you are near the apple trees. Bear crap is everywhere.
That bear is about 20 feet from my 100 yard gong behind the house.

Not to day, but quite often.

Nice photo's. I failed to get the camera and just watched the animals saunter by. I went for a ride and found a big pile of bear dung full of rose hips and a wolf track right in the center of it. It is great living in the sticks.
