MeatEater Season 7

I just started watching this show and burned through Season 1 pretty quick so I have lots ahead of me.
I think his commentary is well grounded and he speaks well for our community.
Had Wild TV for years and just couldn't take it anymore, that and Canada in the Rough. ..yawn..........however this show I like.

I like the show.

But sometimes when Rinella goes amateur archaeologist/anthropologist/historian/philosopher on us my eyes wax over. Some of his cooking has me doing the same.

Really liked those Guyana episodes in this season.

I understand his meateater thing won't allow him to go to Africa or wherever, but it would be cool to see some more "exotic" hunts. Wonder how he got his meat back from New Zealand in the past seasons.

Do you know he went to grad school and is a writer by trade? He has written multiple books, and done a large amount of research into some of these topics (although likely not all of them). He's better educated in a lot of the stuff he talks about than one would expect from your average outdoor TV personality.

I've been watching it the past couple of nights. Its definitely one of the better shows for sure.
And Alaska looks like a beautiful place to hunt.

I love his book American Buffalo, I've read it a couple of times.

I've got several of his books, they've all been great reads.
The TV show is excellent too. Although it says "Netflix original series" at the start, I can't help but wonder if perhaps they shows were filmed and edited for conventional TV, then sold to Netflix, resulting in the 22 minute formula.

Season 7 is a Netflix exclusive. The first 6 seasons were on the outdoor channel or something (with 5 and 6 ending up on Netflix after the fact), hence the format.

I chuckled, because it's clearly not a Netflix original if it existed on cable TV for 6 seasons before they made the switch... But I guess anything that is exclusive to Netflix they'll call a Netflix original...

Finished the season over the weekend. Pretty decent, I love the inclusion of Remi Warren on hunts, he's another one of the good ones to follow on social media.
I was disappointed with the Afognak Island Elk Hunt. If you listen to his podcast, you know that there is 100x more to that story than they showed, and could have made for a real "this is how gritty and hard hunting can be" moment, rather than what they portrayed it as.

Not to mention Netflix has mislabeled seasons 5, 6 and 7 as seasons 1, 2 and 3.

BTW, seasons 1 through 4 (which are fantastic) are "out there" if you know how to find them.

Its funny. On the main page It says meat eater season 7, but when you're actually watching an episode it lists it as season 3... The drop down menu still says the right numbers on my phone... Oh the inconsistencies...
