Nikon Monarch 7 Rangefinder - Need Help

A little while back Prophet River had an amazing sale on those and many of us here got in on it.

I've really been liking the rangefinder so far except for one thing, it seems quite dark when I look through it. If I had to put a number on it, I would say light transmission would be between 70% and 80%. It's noticeably darker than any rifle scope I've ever looked through.

Is this normal for this rangefinder? Is this normal for rangefinders in general?

If you own a Monarch 7 rangefinder, please let me know how dark yours is.

I'm also interested in light transmission of higher end rangefinders, please feel free to chime in also.

That is not the way it should be. Nikons are extremely bright with excellent transmission. We'd send a replacement but we are out. Nikon Canada will look after you!
