Sig 226 mags

I just picked up a used 226 in 9mm and today I took it out to the range. When I tried to load my Sig mags I could not get more than 9 rounds in them. I was using factory ammo, Winchester 115gr and 147gr. Has this happened to anyone else?

If it was a CPO that went to the factory, both your magazines have new springs which will be stiff. Try leaving them loaded over night a few times, that helped me with my 2 Factory rounders. I have one 10 round MecGar that was perfect from the box, and I have 3 x 15 rounders that work great due to the longer spring length.

I recently purchased a factory refurb Sig 226 and the mag was able to take 11 bullets. However, the 2 after-market mags I purchased I can only cram 9 into.

I've got a thread on here somewhere about this issue with my new 226 factory "Canada" mags. The mags are gritty and a real pain to cram 10 into even with a magloader. They are more like 9 and 9/10 mags really. MecGar has nickle ones you can order from some companies in the States that still ship to Canada. They are supposed to be very smooth loading with 10 rounds. When I finish reasearching and order some I'll let you know. By the way it really helps if you press down a bit on the nose of the previous round as well as the back of the casing when loading. Until I get new mags or these ones wear in (have my doubts about that but...) I mostly load 8 rounds and keep it even with my 1911.

I am glad to hear that you pinned them to 10 rounds. I'd hate for you to admit you had illegal mags on a web-site. Are you sure they weren't 10 round mags?

are the 15/10 if so some of them have a rod glued to the follower just grind it a bit till 10 fit...

Get some NP-22 mags, they work sooooooo much better than Sig factory ones, easy to load, easy to lock, easy to use...

Can you bring one or two extra mags to the Nats for me just in case? I'm going to shoot my 226 instead of Beretta.
