So I've been eyeing the Stag 10 like many others. Initially I was leaning towards the .308 as I figure ammo overall would be more plentiful and cheaper. Not to mention shooting both 7.62x51 and .308.

I called around and couldn't find one. So I did a bunch of reading on calibers, reviews of Stag 10's quality and considered my impulsive tendencies to just buy off the shelf.

I learned Wanstall's had one complete Stag 10 in 6.5 creedmoor, so off I went.

A line I read which caught my mind was "The Stag 10 comes in the battle proven .308 as well as the cutting edge 6.5". I thought that was a great way to compliment both calibers. I also read the US Military has began transitioning to 6.5 cm - The market should begin to see some crazy advancements.

Anyways I quickly accepted 6.5 Creedmoor and out the door I went. Fit/finish is amazing as reported. Though I can't speak to it's qualities while shooting, I am aware that there is a chance I could have issues related to loose gas blocks - not a big deal.

So now I'm looking for a decent optic and a bipod. I realize I'll be using this rifle as a bush gun and so if like a decent optic to start shooting long range. Seems most start on 400m range and move up to 1000m. Id like something that would compliment the capability of the rifle and the caliber.

What are guys running on their precision ar10 style rifles?

Bushnell hdmr 2 is a great optic for the money socially when you get it on sale. I think wanstalls has some and they have that 20% off sale coming up

I found it's pretty heavy and my rifle is already over 11lbs.

Do you know where they are made or anything about the glass?

I'm kind of leaning towards something from Japan or Germany.

Bushnell HDMR2s are made in Japan. I have 2 of em and quite like them, I've used them as my my match rifle optic for PRS and field matches since last fall (although I know also have a Leupold Mk5 5-25 and will using that for matches, going forward). They are somewhat heavy at 36oz, if I recall correctly. They're also overkill for an AR10, in my opinion.

When I buy/build a Stag 10, I'll most likely be putting a 3-12 Bushnell LRTSi on it as I have a few. It's got a good mag range, good reticle, 12x will get you out to 1k yards and it's relatively light. If I could run any optic (and I just might) I'd put a Leupold Mk5 3-18 on it though.
