What scope mount do you have on your M1A?

Picked up a Springfield M1A and wanting to put a scope mount on it. Not looking to cheap out and only looking for reliable brands. What are you all running with? Also anyone know of a good gunsmith in the lower mainland that could install one if I choose to not tackle it myself?

arms 18 since day 1 and it's been on that rifle, tight as a nun's......... for years of regular use and using tip off rings.
I also like the smith enterprise mounts and sadlak mounts about equally but arms and smith I've spent more time using and installing ect.
Incidentally, in my testing of customer builds and thier supplied scope mounts..... casings stuck between oprod and mount were an issue with pretty much every "above action" mount at some point. I have video of the smith mount catching brass and the quick remedy in the field to allieviate the issue.
Those springfield mounts are heavy and way overbuilt for what they are..... they don't make my list of reliable mounts.

Depending on the vintage of the M1A, the recent ones use non-GI bolt internals and tend to eject a little higher. On some low mounts (like the ARMS), they are prone to stovepiping. MANY users replace the bolt internals with GI, which usually fixes the issue.

In my case, for ease of installation, build quality, and overall usability - I have converted all my rifles over to the Sadlak Airborne. It's pricey, but in my personal view, is a superior product that allows the full use of Irons.

Smith Ent are arguably the best. I have 1 on my TRW M14 and have yet to shake it loose.

Smith Ent and Fulton Armory are both direct copies of the Brookfield Precision Tool mount, though I think recent SEI ones are nitrided. SEI offers a longer rail version, but I'm not a fan of its bulk. The Sadlak versions are similar, but they altered the design a little with additional dovetail set screws, additional bevelling under the rail to lessen the chances of ejection issues, and in the case of the latest airborne mounts, they have been significantly lightened. I've used them all and prefer the Sadlak.

1000% agree.

SAI might make a decent rifle, but they have never produced a mount worth owning in my opinion.

Also, there is ZERO truth to the idea that you need to make an SAI mount to an SAI rifle. One case where going aftermarket on the mount is a no-brainer.

That’s what I’m leaning towards. I’m a little worried about going after market due to reading about fitment issues with Springfield receivers.

I've had no issues with my SA mount on my SA rifle .
No need for gun smith to install you can do it yourself quite easily .
I acquired my new SA 4th gen mount from Wanstalls several years ago

I think I'm leaning towards the Sadlak mount. My rifle is latest production so sounds like it might be the best fit to try and eliminate some of the ejection issues.

Just watching a review on YouTube. Interesting are we allowed to order these directly from Bassett? I don’t see anywhere in Canada that has these. I like the simplicity of the design.

I ordered direct,,I prefer the picatinny style, easier to mount your scope,,
