COWARDS ON THE RUN Moment herd turns on cowardly hunters after they gun down bull ele

Not a modern day authority on shooting jumbos but those seem like pretty light calibre rifles to do the job with, the old time guys used DBBL barrel rifles that resembled 10 G shotguns. I also don't see that they could have been shooting to mortal areas as they were blasting away. But kudos to the cameraman there, kept the action right on screen despite the 'excitement.'


I also have to say that that kind of hunting greatly reminds me of shooting dairy cows, very little challenge.

I think of it as shooting, not hunting. I wouldn't participate in any sort of "hunt" in which you simply walk up to the animal and shoot it, even if it was a completely free trip. Like you said, it's akin to walking into a pasture and shooting a cow.
 
I'm all for elephant hunting and just came back from africa a month ago myself.

But videos like this do nothing good for the hunting in Africa and wish people wouldn't post it on social media

Translating Looky's posts into English is not always simple but I think I can render this one into words and helpful pictures:


Jonny Quest was a Hannah-Barbara boy's action-adventure cartoon series of the 1960s, the premise was that Jonny was the son of an adventurous world travelling scientist who often tangled with dangerous mad scientist maniacs and/or with rather aggressive wildlife like for instance actual flying pterodactyls, most of which critters would prove to be part of a plot on the part of the mad scientists to take over the world. Because his father was into manly science, Jonny and his friend Hajji often got to play with super-advanced scientific gear, like one man jet packs (illustrated) that generally saved their lives, you know, just like the stuff that James Bond receives from Q at the start of those movies. The series was probably killed by an undercurrent of homosexuality, both between Jonny and Hajji and between Doctor Quest and his hired companion Race Bannon. I do know I was about 10 and wondered why everyone was always apparently sleeping in the same bed, separated I hasten to add by age. Another thing that always struck me was that every boat the Quests got on turned out to be a hydrofoil that would rise about six feet out of the water like some kind of three-point hovercraft, but that's a mere detail.

As a hunter and firearms enthusiast I cannot support this kind of trophy hunting. Never have and never will and I would give a big thumbs up if these magnificent intelligent creatures stomped the shyte out these men.

Those guns appear to be large bore double barrels. looks like they kick pretty good to.
 
Guy should have shot the whole herd, the Africans would have celebrated. Only people that think elephants should not be hunted are the keyboard warriors who dont live in Africa, 99.99% of them couldn't afford it anyway.

Really? You never walk up to an animal and just shoot it? Just shoot from the truck?lol. Most mule deer hunts I’ve been on I can walk right up to 20 meters before they even stand up. Same with moose. Bear you can bait so they walk right up to you......

So what do you hunt? I can guaranty someone thinks the same about wolves, bears, deer, elk, moose etc. Personally I would love an opportunity to hunt elephant

You should have started it by saying "As a sanctimonious, ill-informed, judgemental know-it-all..." And it would have been more accurate. If you've never seen how happy the locals are to receive the meat of a hunted elephant, you're talking out of your ass.
 
What these emotional uninformed tree huggers don't know is the surplus and problem elephants are removed selectively so the locals don't take the law into their own hands and kill the whole herd [nothing nastier than a festering musketball wound to piss off an elephant]after killing a few natives during nightime crop raiding.The locals get the meat the money goes towards hiring more locals as game wardens to protect the remaining elephants from poachers . Management win /win for everybody .........who knew .........not you.
