Actually, there would likely now be a better market since we can no longer geat affordable USGI stocks from the USA. Might be worth you considering a run.

I best be clear as I do not want to violate the terms of use on this site and am not a business member here, though I have been in the past.
I do not currently manufacture rifle stocks though it would be about a one week transition of the shop to switch back to stock making. I have a full cabinet of M14 stock mold sets and some others.

But let's talk about cost for a minute just to give you guys an idea.....
There is no such thing as a "cheap" composite stock unless you want injection molded glass/carbon filled nylon like the promag stuff ect.
Carbon fiber and Aramid are not cheap products and must be bought in very large rolls for any kind of cost savings.
For example..... my last roll of room temperature stable pre-preg carbon fiber cost me, wholesale, darn near 10,000.00 delivered.
Overhead is a big concern when one has a relatively unknown demand..... or when folks refuse to accept your stock is as good as anything coming from the states.
It's something I beat my head against the wall about, as I'm sure have other canadian stock makers.

Unfortunately, I can not and will not make a "cheap" stock but if I do decide to get back into it, I would promise to produce quality, functionality and durabilty backed by a lifetime transferable warranty..... just like the stocks I have already made and sold as a former business member here ( ICR/M14Doctor)

I'll spend the rest of hunting season mulling it over ......

The plastic stock on my 305a 762x39 is killing me inside... Ideally I would like an un-finished fiberglass stock or even like a burlap micarta if possible :) I think seeing the fabric material would be awesome and unique with a smooth clear satin finish, but not sure if that's possible for around $200 :p

If I recall, the carbon fibre stocks were significantly more than $200 with 45ACPKING last made them. And rightly so.
 
In the past I made 3 of my M14 stock designs availlable. They all started at 549.00 for a scratch made, drop in ready stock. I also made mod stocks from chinese plastic and usgi fiberglass.
The three patterns were CQB with pistol grip and buffer tube mount, E2 style and a tactical Hunter style. The CQB was by far the most popular. I will not be resurrecting those three designs , they are officially retired. I don't currently use an image hosting site so no pics sorry. I also think I have pretty much purged the internet of pics of my stocks unless someone other than me posted it.

There is zero chance of me making an M14 stock that retails for 200.00 ..... and I am not willing to discuss theoretical pricing.
There is a couple ways to go with materials though and some cost savings can be had by using a blend of glass and carbon..... but these materials are getting more expensive all the time, especially the performance molding stuff.
 
Truth be told, I never understood the attraction for a "CQB" M14. IMHO, a carbon replica of the GI stock would be fine - or maybe something like a big red NM stock in carbon fibre.
 
$549 for a drop-in stock? That's actually a pretty good deal, considering that a full-inlet McMillan is like $585 USD. Does that include a finish?

Tell me more about the mod stocks.
 
truth be told i stopped making stocks due to my own failures to deliver on the customer service end of things. I did everything myself and had no employees except for a brief time and that did not work out too well in the end for me..... or my customers..... so i pulled the plug. Until I think I can make the awesome stocks I know I can "and" have a smooth and timely operation producing them..... I will probably stick to my current gig which puts minimal demands on me so I can just work at my own pace.

question though...... what ever happened to that american fella who went from making a carbon fiber usgi stock replica (ish) in his bathtub...... to getting a professional stock making shop set up? I saw those stocks being advertised a while back.... year or two ago? but can't remember the name. Crazy expensive.......

Is it AG Composite stocks you are thinking of?

I just received a walnut [M14] stock for my M305 from Boyds. Some observations for what they may be worth:
- So far a good fit overall, but as Claven 2 has pointed out, I have needed to take a little material out from under the receiver along the right hand side aft of the stock liner. The factory bevel just needed needed to be extended back somewhat (comparing to the plastic Norinco stock, you should be able to see the difference).
- The Norinco stock liner transferred just fine.
- The Norinco ferrule is well crimped onto the plastic, not sure how I'd get it off without damaging it.
- The Norinco buttplate assembly doesn't fit at all - not even close. The Boyds stock is supposed to be compatible with USGI parts, so I guess the Norinco plate is way out of spec from USGI. To allow the Norico buttplate assembly to fit, I would have to remove about 1/8" around the entire perimeter of the inlet, and even then there would be an unacceptable ridge left between the outside radius of the buttplate and the buttstock itself (this is to say that in my case the Norinco buttplate is way too narrow for a proper fit).

Maybe your mileage will vary.

Interesting. When I got my USGI stock 2 or 3 years ago I transfered the norinco buttplate without any issue or fitting required.
