Am I correct in assuming that the conspiracy theorists and No Compromisers would prefer to boycott the sessions?

Re. "assault weapons" bring some pictures and provide information/data. This would only leave smuggled handguns in the hands of gangs and criminals ...

"The meeting is at the Sheraton Toronto Centre from 1:30 to 4:00 pm Friday 22nd Oct"

There might be a typo in this.

Thank you, yes, should have been 26th Oct. John

All I can say is make sure you bring lots of Qtips so they can clean their ears out so they can actually hear what your talking about. And then maybe a large shovel to shovel your way out of the meeting. :bsFlag: :bangHead:

I know I shouldn't be happy about something so small, but this is a sign of good faith... I hope.
I still have hope that Blair is only doing all of this to show the public that they've done their due dilligence. I've heard from him before Trudeau ordered this study, just a week before, he spoke against a ban.. mind may have changed since then, but I hope not.
Hope the Liberals know a ban wont work, but they know there's some dummies in the public so they had to at least do a study.

Maybe I'm just dreaming though.

Wolverine Supplies is pleased to announce that we have received an invitation from the office of the Honourable Bill Blair, Minister of Border Security and Organised Crime Reduction, to attend a round table discussion concerning reducing violent crime and the possibility of a ban on handguns and “assault weapons”. The meeting is next Friday in Toronto, I will be attending.

Be ready to kiss goodbye to all those sweet semi-auto and handgun dollars...

Regardless of what we think Blair will do or say, this is at least a positive step for us. John is knowledgeable, is a great spokesperson for our cause and he’s been in the fight from the beginning.

Gun orgs and owners have repeatedly asked for a dialogue with the Libs and not just token hunters and conservation groups. We finally get a chance here and naysayers are calling it a farce. It may or may not be, but let John speak his peace in our defense.

Damned if we do and damned if we don’t! No wonder us gun owners can’t fight our way out of a paper bag. We’re our own worst enemy.

So very good BUT being an elected official for a decade I see this has potential pitfalls, after the fact.
They will say "we made the decision based on input from the firearm community" (stakeholders or what ever poltispeak they choose)

Turf this party next election.

Start the conversation with people outside the firearm community now.

Be gentle as it may take some time for them to come around.

Besides screwing gun owners the libturds are destroying many businesses in Canada that supply taxes and employment. Im sure Mr Wolverine will bring that to the attention of the idiots on the committee also.

Good job Wolverine Supplies, I hope other Canadian firearms business take the cue and become politically involved (and by political involvement, I don't mean saying stupid things in interviews with the left-wing press or trying to get the RCMP to shut down a competitor...) If the handgun/"assault weapon" ban actually happens, 90% of the board's sponsors will be declaring bankruptcy.

According to the US assault rifle definition in their survey: there is NO assault rifle in Canada.
Hight capacity magazine: 10-15-20-30-40 rounds is impossible in Canada, always limited to 5 rounds
Rapid fire: mean automatic: prohibited in Canada

Botom line: No assault rifle in Canada

But there are Organized Crimes groups in Canada. If this ban take effect the illegal gun trade will become ultra lucrative. It will actually drive up gun related crimes as guns slowly become more scarce.
If Blair isn't brave enough to pass bills that attack Organized Crime groups directly then he should step down.
