Had a nice afternoon shooting some targets at my makeshift range, and doing a bit of quick accuracy testing with some factory loads for those curious how good the Criterion barrels are. Criterion likes to say their chrome lining does not effect accuracy negatively due to how they plate it on, and they have a reputation for being consistent and very good shooters that share features with their more expensive Krieger brothers.

EDITED: my Range Buddy app let me down and the results aren't quite as good as the pics show. The "0.6 MOA" groups are just under 0.8 MOA in reality. The 5 round Hirtenberger group is actually 1.7 MOA.

TLDR is that the gun will shoot sub-MOA with a cheapo Zeiss 4-12x50 Terra and my "average" skill pulling the trigger. It really, really likes Federal GMM Sierra Matchking 168 gr and Sierra Gameking 165 gr. Both of those loads were in the 0.8 MOA range on some 3 round groups. It also shot sub-MOA with Federal Berger Juggernaut 185 gr loads, grouping 1.0 MOA.

I didn't have my shooting table today and realized that shooting from a truck bed isn't ideal... because the deep depressions in the bed can make the Leadsled go all cockeyed and throw your shot as it recoils. Definitely bringing my table next time.

Overall, I am extremely happy with the accuracy, reliability, weight and recoil. Reweighed the gun at 7.1 lb naked today. It shoots smooth and flat with surprisingly low recoil for the caliber and weight of the gun, I like the super short SLR brake to tame recoil without being blasty like some of the other brakes I have. The titanium BCG works well with the adjustable gas block and it just chugs through magazines with zero malfunctions from 147 gr Hirtenberger and 149 gr XM80CL to 185 gr Juggernaut. CMC trigger is A+ for a two stage and had no trouble with the hard primers in some of my ammo.

Hornady 168 AMAX. This was a bit inconsistent but the best groups were about 1 MOA.

Still have a long way to go, I'll try to do a little more shooting later in the week and get some more results, including some of the hunting loads.

What scoring app are you using? Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the boxes on your targets supposed to be 1" boxes, and the Berger 185gr group says .83" but it looks like the 3 shot group spans more than one box, maybe 1.25"?

Just curious, I'm waiting for my barrel to show up and will be doing something quite similar.

It's called Range Buddy on Android, but you're right that something is off. I just measured quick with a ruler back at my house and and the "0.6 MOA" groups are actually like 0.750-0.8 inch, the 5 round Hirtenberger group is like 1.7 inches.

Not sure what is wrong with it but the groups are showing up like 25% smaller on the app than my measurement. That's what I get for leaving the caliper at home.

I had the same issue using Ballistic AE's target calculator. Turns out I wasn't zeroing the target data to the photo, i.e. zeroing 1" on the calculator to the 1" blocks on the target.
Not sure if yours on android requires the same function, I'm just a basic b!tch on my iPhone over here.

Good catch man. The Range Buddy app makes you choose the size of your squares (1") and then when you take the pic it makes a 1" grid to overlay with the one on your target, so you just hold the phone so they line up. I still don't get how it's off but I admit I was too excited to check it lol.

I still think I could shrink the groups further if I had a less windy day (it was gusting to 20 kph crosswinds here), more magnification and my shooting table, but I am still really happy with the results.

That's what I like about the ballistic AE app. You take any picture and zero it after, instead of trying to hold a phone steady to take a picture perfectly aligned.

If you want, pm me your info and send me a few of the blank photos before the app. I'll run it through BAE (ugh stupid millennial lingo) and see what it comes up with.

You've sold me on the Criterion barrel. Will a Spikes tactical rifle length gas tube work with the Stag 10 and this barrel? How does the Stag shoot compared with your BCL?

The Fulton Armoury barrel by Criterion uses the Armalite length gas system.

So you need the extended length gas tube which is Approximately .325" longer then AR-15 rifle tube.

Looks to be running great ! Thanks for the report.

Where do you get this barrel and gas block ? Been assembling Stag 10 parts but haven't nailed down a barrel choice yet

You can but it directly from Fulton Armory along with the proper gas tube and adjustable gas block. They are setup with ##### for import.
