Plus 1 ....Thanks Wolverine...i know you will speak for all of us in the right manner with grace and courteousness, but the sternness of Churchill ! God Bless you shine some insight to these government guys ....

Whether or not they ignore us, it's important we are on the record and I'm glad Mr.W is representing us.

Do we know who else will be attending?

Goodluck Mr. John Hipwell! We, responsible gun owners will always be here to support a justified gun control act. Not a partisan, politically correct measure (to keep political and social existence of our politicians) that suppresses the rights of law-abiding and responsible gun-owners.

To get up this morning and see 14 pages of supporting comments is a bit overwhelming. Thank you all, nothing like putting some pressure on a fellow :)

The meeting is at the Sheraton Toronto Centre from 1:30 to 4:00 pm Friday 26nd Oct and is by invitation only. We have been told that space is limited and only one representative from each organization can attend. When we made our presentation to the Standing Committee on Bill C71 I had my son, Matt beside me, we make a great team and Matt's 17 years as a front line RCMP Officer add a very interesting perspective to our presentation. Matt is away on business so I am having take care of this one myself. I have no idea how many or who else will be attending. Nor do I know if these meetings are open to the public and press.

I spent all of yesterday preparing a written submission on the themes reflected in the Discussion Paper, I had Matt's valuable input on this last night, I will finish this of today and this will be e-mailed to them on Monday.

Some of you may not know that "technically" I am retired, my son Matt and his wife Genn now takes care of the day to day running of Wolverine Supplies, this has allowed me to work on special projects, notably the WK180-C and Government meetings, it is an easy choice which I prefer. :)

This is incredible! I am glad someone from the shooting/hunting community will have an opportunity to speak; especially such a reputable store such as Wolverine.

Wolverine Supplies is pleased to announce that we have received an invitation from the office of the Honourable Bill Blair, Minister of Border Security and Organised Crime Reduction, to attend a round table discussion concerning reducing violent crime and the possibility of a ban on handguns and “assault weapons”. The meeting is next Friday in Toronto, I will be attending.

Here is the global article that exposes the lie with the statistics on the often ill quoted 50% of guns are domestically sourced. I am sure you are well prepared, but I thought it might be handy to have as an answer as I am sure that will come up.

Getting tangled in the semantics of the "assault weapon" definition will not help convert the middle people who are ignorant around guns.... to them if it looks like a weapon a soldier might carry that is good enough.

It's the politics behind the push both at the municipal level and now at the federal level that need to be brought to the fore front in my opinion.

The misuse of the term assault weapon can simply be pointed out as a factual error though I suspect they will lean on modern left leaning changes to the meaning of the term to include semi auto look a likes. This re-defenition is a perfect example of the questionable politics at play.

Trudeau promised an new era of politics free from fear, division and partisanship...... now they are trying to change the channel.

As the most vetted group of Canadians, gun owners would prefer not to be targeted by campaigns of fear and misinformation solely based on partisan politics.

Politicians who value the appearance of doing something about gang violence,(targeting the law abiding) rather then supporting the Police with resources and committing to the hard work of developing long term strategy's that extend beyond the next election cycle.

Will these hearings be available for viewing on line?

Can you please bring up the issue of “no pic for religious reasons” B.S on the pal /Rpal and see what they say?

This isn’t quite the same, but if you’re looking to prep, I would have a look at any recordings of in-committee parliamentary proceedings where interest groups are making submissions. There are definitely helpful points to take from there on how to eloquently and effectively put your point through

Thank you once again for your tireless effort on our part. It is unfortunate Matt is unable to attend with you. But we all know “this ain’t your first rodeo”. Best of luck.

Hey guys - we voted out the "Gun Banners" municipally here in Surrey yesterday. There is hope. Good luck to you guys next Friday and thanks for what you do.

Yes we did, I'm trying to call the Surrey first people to see if a local range can have there signs to be used for target board backers sort of say. But there number no longer works. I'll try sending a direct email to the losing parties mayor canidate. I don't think he will reply as he hasn't in the past to my other emails.

I'm pretty sure John and Matt knocked it out of the park at the in committee proceedings but perhaps it was a different hearing.... :)
