I'm in Ontario and seems to be the epicentre of the ban mentality, I've been wondering how many handgun crimes are committed by members of a gun club that's a statistic I'd be interested in finding out. However the mayor of Toronto doesn't care about that and thinks law abiding gun owners who have their guns stolen are contributing to the problem of gang violence. The reality is criminals are the problem that needs to be solved

Which can only mean that either our noble liberal rulers are in league with the criminals or they are too cowardly to stand up against organized crime.

Maybe we should bring in some Mexican politicians, the type that stood up to esqubar and elchoppo. Those guys had balls. Would someone like to start an online petition for that. Most people would sign it.

Forgive me all, but I have a sneaky suspicion that inviting Wolverine and Mauser is mere tokenism.. I would like to know the names and affiliation of all invitees... Is it just two for us, and 40 against?
Will this info be made public, or kept pretty secret like the meetings themselves, which seems typically dishonest of this government

meanwhile do not use 'assault weapon" always call them modern sport rifles and politely correct any politican on the panel who uses the assault weapon term.. they are not assault rifles, and not weapons in our hands.

Also a suggestion that you might insist that we do not have a "gun problem" as politicians and media continually say, but rather a "gang problem"

I think any Liberal who publicly supports any ban and is a pal holder/gun owner should voluntary surrender their toys and have CBC cover it. Put up or shut up. If they truly don't believe in and don't want to surrender their guns, then burn their Liberal party cards and have CBC cover that!

We just narrowly avoided voting in a mayor in Surrey who said he would ban legal handguns. No talk of it now. This is going to be a long battle but informed people talking about it all levels will work eventually. Thank you.

Wolverine:

How about our justice system being soft on weapons charges? It is up to you but I think it should be mentioned in the discussion.

You can also call them out on some of their statistics like this one:

A really good question to ask them right off the start is, who in this room is a gun owner? I think in order to have a good fair discussion there needs to be equal representation in the room. Hopefully there will be but I have my doubts.

I would start by asking what their definition of "assault rifle " is . 12.2's have been prohibited since 1978 . Presently there are NO High Capacity Mags for any semi-auto firearm in Canada (5 round max. ) . Liberals have zero knowledge of firearms OR firearm laws on the books in Canada ! Short barreled concealable handguns are already prohibited in Canada . Sheople in in this country run on emotional based buzz words our socialist press likes to repeat ! Common sense eludes them .

I agree, this is one of my major points.

Just remember the level of comprehension you are discussing this with.... lower elementary school at best. You may want to bring cartoon characters and some dinkies so that you can illustrate your points to those on the opposite end of the table. Using common sense and sound logic will be lost on them.

All sarcasm aside, I am glad to hear you will be there going to bat for us.

All the best,

They keep bringing up the magic number of 700 gun violence related crimes annually. Do me a favour and ask him if their using this stat as the reason to ban guns than why not ban alcohol as it kills over 2200 per year in Canada alone. Just a simple question to ask the man as it’s a valid point. Or the over 25,000 stabbings annually? No training or license is required to own and carry a knife yet not one question is raised about it. Their reasoning and logic to ban certain firearms makes no sense, why not change the law when purchasing ingredients to press ammo? Make it so we must show a PAL to purchase the components. As of now anyone can buy and press ammo at home without a PAL which is just nonsense in my opinion. Would this eliminate the number of rounds available to criminals? No, but it will drastically reduce it. This is the way they should be going with this problem, not labeling us all as people who will commit a crime because we own firearms. These are all valid points that I would not hesitate to ask if I were given the option. Best of luck with the meeting and I hope you have prepared some facts to overcome their reasoning behind bill C-71.
Good luck!

On loading components ideas, illegal drugs like cocaine, meth, heroin are prohibited but are still found easely. So good luck on controlling loading components. Good luck Mr Wolverine we all support your efforts.
