Reading through this thread got me thinking of a good analogy to explain the difference between a decent spotting scope and a top dollar spotter. Go to Costco and take a look at the higher end 4k tv's then look at the mid priced 1080 res panels... which one do you really want?

I don't know Angus, I couldn't make out the USA flag in that picture.
The cheaper one. I have no love for expensive tvs, I don't think they add to the experience much at all - a good movie is a good movie whether I watch it on a 70" 4k TV or a 19" crt from 1988...
