Looking at getting a new SBE shot gun but cant decide if i should get a SBE 2 or the new 3?? I have read about the issues of the 3 hitting high but would like to hear from guys that have had both. There are still some new 2’s around and are a couple huntred cheaper than the new 3’s, again looking for some opinions please

I have heard some people swear that a larger front bead was the solution. Given that I never pay attention to the beads, I don't see that working for me.

I “see” my bead in a manner of speaking but only in my peripheral vision. All my guns have white beads as I find they dont stand out and sub-conciously take my focus off the target.

I stay away from guns with colored beads, especially the neon green and orange ones, they tend to attract your eye away from the target, almost guaranteeing a miss!

High shooting guns can be shot well once you learn where to point but if your used to a flat shooting gun then you may as well stick with it!

SBE 2...or even better, Vinci.
Beretta owns both.Beretta gas guns are good, but ease of cleaning and maintenance with Inertia guns cannot be overlooked.Vinci feels and shoots great, and has NO recoil spring in the stock- may not seem like an important thing, but it is.
Certain guns hit the mark and then should be left alone( unfortunately companies could not sell guns if they did not promote that the newest wasn’t better than the last one!).
Beretta 686/687 & AL 390 were and are the magic spot. Benelli SBE2, Vinci( ugly but good),M2 & Legacy are the magic spot.

I picked up a like new SBE 2, so far really like it. It did not come with a shim kit and i am having trouble finding one, i tried Stoeger Canada and they dont seem to want to pick up the phone or return voice mails.... Anyone know another place to try?

I have read that there are current sbe3 owners that are complaining that there guns are shooting as much as a foot high. That’s ridiculous, you can do a search online and will find many owners complaining about this. I would go with the sbe2 or even the original sbe for cheaper if you can find one.

It was a common complaint on the SBE II's too...
