Hi,

I searched for a while and can't find any post on this issue.

My 535 tend to spits the 2nd round out of the ejection port after I fired the first round and rack it to fire the second round. It happens with 3 inch shells, they come out the mag tube in way that the round hits the bolt face and bounces on the side of the receiver and fall out by the ejection port.

It's pretty upsetting while leading a goose for a second shot and all you hear is click.

I'm thinking the mag tube spring needs a tweak but I don't know what.

That's not it.

Mine doesn't result with two shells in the receiver. What I get is during ejection of 1st round, empty casing goes out just fine and when it cycles to get the second round out of the mag, that round just bounces out of the receiver. Looks like it comes out of the mag tube too hard and fast. Only happens with 3" shells. So the result is the action is closed with no round chambered if you don't noticed what happened.

Have you (003) inspected the ejection port spring?
It might be bent and thus popping the 3inch shells out due to the angle and the violent action of 3 inch magnums being shot.
Post some pictures of the action and ejection port areas.
Rob

Good point but I can't see anything out of place.

I'm thinking of cutting one or two coils of the tube magazine spring.

I would love to post pictures but I've long forgot all logins to any picture hosting sites.

I just bought a 3 barrel 535 mossberg. I have not shot mine yet but I read about the shell dropping issue. From what I learned reading is that it was an issue on models from earlier product years that was corrected otherwise it should be a warranty issue.

It is shell stop issues. I made a post exactly like this one lol. I ended up pulling mine out and just bending it on the edge of my table and it works like new...finally

I bought it broken and the loser wouldn't help to fix the prob. anyway. just bend it a lil that's what I did
