Thought it would b a welcome distraction to see what everyone is hitting the woods with this season! So post what you're heading out with!

The areas I hunt vary from sandhills and thick scrub where most shots are under 75 yds to open fields, cut lines, and shelter belts where 150-300+ yds is the norm. I have a cow moose draw this year so I spent the last couple months tuning up and practicing with a model 70 sporter in 325 wsm loaded with 200 gr Accubonds over H4350. Backup / short range gun will be a Henry carbine in 44mag loaded with a 240 gr XTP over win 296.

More than likely my BLR takedown and Rem 783, as main and back up guns, both in 308

Going for mulie or white tail, could go for moose maybe. Will have a black bear tag just in case. Confident in the rounds I have from federal powerpoints and rem corelockt to nosler accubonds, 150 to 180 grain choices

Tikka T3x Lite stainless topped with a Leupold VX-3i 3.5-10x40 and a Tikka T3x Battue Lite as a backup/brush gun. Both in 30-06. Both shooting Sako 180gr super hammerhead rounds.

Elk and Whitetail Remington 700 mtn rifle in 30 06 Ackley Improved
165 gr Barnes tsx filled my cow Elk tag.
This combo worked great small and light with some punch.

I bring half a dozen to camp and see how I'm feeling on any given day... the No.1-A .303 Brit will be going out first, unless it is a really dirty day. Then probably the No.1-A Whelen... neither have taken game yet, so that is a must do. I will have along my M77 MKII 7X57 and .257 Robert's and a pair of M77 MKII stainless rifles in .308 and .350 Rem Mag... the RM might sound like overkill but I have a very accurate, light deer load developed with 200 RCL's... so if the weather is rough, that is what I will head into the bush with.

Huh? Are you guys on a draw for deer or did you just not purchase one?

Nope ..... I'm on a long job working six 12s till end of Nov. Won't be able to go to the deer camp this yr. so bird hunting close to home on Saturdays.

The only draw we have for deer is for antlerless.

Bummer... hope the big "R" comes soon for you... I am 14 months away. I didn't think there was a general deer draw in NB.

I just turned 58 so have a couple more years. Everything is paid for so good there and I have good health. Hope all goes well for you.

Think I may squirrel away a few bucks and try to go on a NFLD moose hunt to celebrate when the day comes. Probably take the 24" #1A and another beater for rainy days. :)

After that, will try to get to our camp in N. Ontario and do some bird hunting with my brothers. It's between Hearst and Longlac.

I used my custom Sako/Hart/McMillan 7-300 w 180
VLDs for spring beaver bounty hunting, black bear dispatch, elk, and any number of feral goats and pigs in NZ. Suppressed down there, bare barrel here. Also used an Accumark in 270 Weatherby for goats. With mule deer and whitetail upon us, I'm a Defiance /frozen Fiber/McMillan .28 Nosler and 195 EOLs. A Defensive Edge Canyon rifle in 338 Edge might go for a ride, there's a few mulie places where a little strategic reach would potentially be a good thing. My whitetail hunting could see just about anything in a blind since the range is known to be short in advance.

I've been carrying this 7RSAUM Model 7 with a 4-12 VX2 shooting 140TTSX

I'm going out with this Frankenrifle this year. It was supposed to be a custom build with a carbon fiber barrel. That's not happening so I had the original 5R barrel set back with a .308 match chamber. Flutes don't line up anymore, oh well. Sports a Leupold VX-6HD 3-18x44. Rings are too high. McMillan carbon fiber stock. I'll make it look pretty for next year, for this year it'll do fine.

Went for moose with the .300.

Going for deer with a .270.

20-gauge is getting a heck of a workout on ducks, grouse, and soon also pheasant.
