The new Tikka T1X Rimfire

I just picked up the 22l T1, what’s the best 22l round for target shooting and plinking? CCI mini mag or CCI stingers?

So far mine has shot CCI Green Tags, Federal blue box SV, and HV very well. The great groups are coming from some SK, and Eley Match right now.

I have a senaking suspicion that the T1x is going to be one of those guns that will shoot almost everything well (within limits of course)

I’d say grab some cci standard velocity. It more than likely will out shoot both. I put about 200 rounds of cci sv last week through my 20” tikka. Very happy. I believe got juice? Has had some great results also with some higher end ammo also.
If it’s all you have, try both and let us know your results

Mine just arrived 20 inch 22lr. Quite happy but the girl has a cold heart after being with Canada Post for so long. One noticeable thing is the weight of the instruction manual after the usual 10 page I’ve been getting. Saw the T-shirt sticker on the box

Some updates on the build.

Looking Great. Can't wait to see the finished result!

Thanks. Turned out pretty good, this was my first time using bedding material and the Boyds stock actually fit so well most of the material did squeeze out but it did make a nice support around the front key or lug and it created a front pillar all the way down to the bottom plate. The receiver and barrel fit so snug it actually is super precise. After some dremel work I smoothed out some areas but overall pretty good. The hardest part after was cleaning out the action with all the plumbers putty, that took about an hour or so.

Question for you guys that have received your tikka, how do you find the weight? I got to hold a 17hmr and I thought it was bit heavy.. what are your thoughts?

It's probably the weight distribution that gives that impression. The synthetic stock, if it's like most Tikka stocks I've handled, barely outweighs a wet fart. The weight comes from the barrel and action, so the front end feels heavy.
I added a walnut Hunter stock to my T3. I know it's heavier than it was as a T3 Lite, but the balance is altogether different and the weight feels like it's the same. Deceptive. If you can get a walnut stock for your T1x, I think it'll be a very nice rifle. I was lucky to get mine here on the EE, it turned my plain Jane T3 into a very pretty girl indeed.

If I decide to go for the T1x, the T3 will go back to plain Jane T3 Lite and the new girl will get the nice furniture for a while.

Wolverine shipped mine to me last week,20 inch,22lr. The gentlemen said only 2 of this size had arrived. There was a shop on the east coast that shipped 2 weeks. A shop in Calgary had them over 2 weeks ago. A number of shops are advertising them. Replacement magazines are just starting to up

Mine came in the door today,
sweet little rifle. 16" 22lr. Only thing... normal T3 rail won't fit, front screw holes must be drilled further back.
