Then why would you recommend something that doesnt fit?

To others members, you need a smaller plate cos the selector is in the way. I much prefer the t81 selector that i can operated with my thumb .

I don't really like the looks of the modified 81's they look awesome as is. But thats just me. My 858's I had a bunch a stock beaver barf, then hardwood fully modded lol I suppose its all part of the hobby

Yeah I agree but the all black look is cool too. I might stain my folder set all black to give it more of a modern look then classic wood

Huh? How re you going to create a "very very close" copy of an AK with an SKS-D? The trigger group is not in the correct position for the pistol grip to look correct + the mag well is too far out, not to mention the ridiculous look of a 20" barrel of an SKS on any "Kanadian AK project". And then there's that squarish SKS receiver cover that just looks like a sin on any SKS in AK clothing...

Sometimes it's best not to try to convert a Lada into a Cadillac, because all you'll get is a Volga as a result.

well just a look, I know it will be an approximation only
I already did that, but I wanted to save SKS character even if was in AK skin.
Now I want to make it to look as close as possible as an AK i.e. cutting burrel, recreating ak style front sight, recreating removable back hump ( like archangel tried and failed as it was not removable) etc.

BTW Volga is much better than LADA IMHO

was shooting it today for the second time; so far 250+rnds and no any loose parts-all things fit very tightly and nicely

Did you mean...is the quad rail see through? Yes it is...Ive decided its not for me, and abandoned the optic route, Ive heard of guys using the top hand-guard off of a tapco sks stock with a rail , but haven't tried it yet. Now that its winter iron sights are a much better choice for a carry rifle. I much prefer it blacked out

The pistol grip is a zhukov AK 47 grip, the hand guard is just been painted. The quad rail is definetly see through, made in china...lol

grip is about $20, only thing I had to do was switch out the bolt for a shorter bolt

the AK style rubber pad definitely fits T81, though you have to adjust the velcro strap or better get a new one so it is wider and sits higher (will need some basic filing of the original rubber hole:
