Doomsday Bugout Carbine Back

Not when they are considered a pistol because the stock detaches ,over 500fps they become restricted like the previous 2289 Backpacker. The Canadian version had a hole drilled in the valve to limit velocity. If you don't like the cold stay away from the 2240 CO2 ..........a pump is not affected which is why I had a 2289 built set at 495fps with a 14.3 dome.Guys would also zip tie a handwarmer on the CO2 tube in late fall or winter to keep the gas warm. Many dead grouse.

I have a 2289 and a 2240 both fun to play with. The pumpnworks good in the winter. I havent tried it at amything below -6 or -7 though. The co2 falls off quick if it isnt warm though

The 2289 is a really handy little rifle, I had one for years. Not so sure this would be my pick for a doomsday set up but good on em for trying.

Nothing beats a crappy backpack and a whistle to keep the family alive!

Obviously that's marketing hype. But a 2289 with a US valve and a flat top piston with a velocity adjuster ,so it is set at just under 500fps kills small game dead in any weather and is relatively quiet while doing it.It is classified as a pistol so going faster is asking for bad attention.
