Date of manufacture is 1977... what is the configuration? Sights or no sights? Barely length? Forearm design, semi beaver or Alexander Henry?

It is probably a No.1-B.

It appears to be a No.1-S Medium Sporter, not the No.1-B that I was expecting. Good news for you as the S version generally sells for more than the B version. It appears to have a 22" barrel from the proportions, but some were made with 24" barrels too. As for price, condition is everything... hard to tell from those pictures... how marked up is the wood? Is there any rust or scratches on the metal work? Check the bore against a diffused light, is it bright and shiny with sharp, clear rifling? Are there any other issues, such as a damaged crown, misaligned buttpad, cracks in the wrist or tang or forend? On the up side, the wood appears to have good colour tone and nice grain. There is some patina to the receiver, but that is expected for a 70's rifle. In excellent/mint condition, this rifle version is currently worth $900-$1000 to a collector of slab-side front sight Ruger No.1's... as a shooter more like $800... and it goes down from there as the issues pile up. You would be better off selling the Leupold scope separately.

Can you measure the muzzle diameter, and barrel length?

Thanks again for your help
I can take some better pics with the rifling and closer shots of the bluing, its actually in very nice shape, the old fella I got it from never shot it so it sat in a closet for a few decades. Not sure whether that scope is worth much,if not Id sell together.

The "A" version should sell well at $1000 shipped if the condition is excellent... there are guys who collect the slab-side front ramp guns... those same guys are disdainful of the scalloped front ramp guns... go figure. A .30/06 No.1-A is as nice a configuration as you can get for field use IMO... so you should find a taker quickly. As for the scope, an older gloss Leupold that is 70's vintage should also sell well to collectors who like period optics on rifles of the same age... which model is it? What is the magnification (or magnifacation range?)? Look for info on the objective bell as well as the underside of the turret... with the serial number on the scope we can get the manufacture date.

Its a leupold scope serial number is 102707H 2-7 Vari-X 11c
Butler Creek

The "H" is at the end (Suffix) of the serial number??? That would make it a 2000 manufacture... but if it is at the start (Prefix) of the serial number it would be a 1977 manufacture, which would make sense with a 1977 Ruger No.1-A.

Well I found out you were wrong about the manufacturing date and I sent you many photos in good faith now your being rude.
Also you wanted this rifle as you said you were looking for one so Im just trying to find a fare price

I am not being rude... I am also not wrong about the date of manufacture, the year is 1977 NOT 1978... the first serial number shipped in 1978 was 131-19270... so yours was made in 1977 as I said earlier... and I don't want your rifle and never said that I "was looking for one", you are clearly confused... you got a fair assessment... but as usual these sort of posts are just a run-around from people hoping to initiate a bidding war or to solicit a ridiculously high offer from a reader. Good luck with your sale... šŸ˜
