Cash at registration or shortly thereafter is the standard to which all MD's should do things. It lets them plan trophies and pay for them, not having to scramble last minute. If you can't do that, don't register.

I have attended this match 3 times prior and well know it's very popular and allways fills quickly. I fail to see your point, wouldn't people cancelling be even a bigger chance with awhole year for life changes. Is there know waiting list?
Slavex, yes things need to be ordered and paid for. One would think a match of this size has a float to work with and club support. Again this not a knock on the people who organize this match, i just was asking why payment so far in advance and have received the answer from Trevor.

I just booked tickets to a concert 6 months from now and got crappy seats cause all the best ones sold 2 months ago.

I've never seen an option to pay at any other time than booking for concerts, plays, or other events. Hell even airline tickets you have a short window from booking to pay before the airline puts your tickets back into availability for others. With matches that sellout what possible reason would the MD have for not wanting to collect monies right away?
A good example, Extreme Euro Open in Czech for 2019 sold out in 2 days, over 1000 competitors. 1400 actually registered, but your spot was secured until payment was received, anyone that didn't get their money in immediately didn't get a spot 48hrs after the match opened. That's how it should be done.

Saturday, July 27th :
- CRO meeting and squad bucket pick up at stats building 8am.
- Rounds down range: 8:30am
- Range closed at 5pm
- Banquet: 6:30pm. Location: Dalhousie Lion’s Club

Sunday, July 28th :
- CRO’s pick up squad buckets from Stats building. 8am.
- Rounds down range: 8:30
- Awards: Stats building upon completion of the match.
