225 g LRN ina a 45acp and SAA

Hello,
I have a huge pile of 225g powder coated LRN that measures .452,after running them through a .45 ACP sizer die.
So would these be ok to use in a .45 ACP and a SAA .45 LC?

Just for reference, my Campro 250 g RN .45 LC bullits, measures 452

.001" oversize is normal and even recommended for cast bullets. Go for it.

It should be absolutely fine. I have even used .453" bullets in .45 ACP because they were available at a good price.

Especially with lead bullets, a little bit oversize is no problem if loaded rounds chamber freely.

Not a problem either. A lot of cowboy shooters who shoot wild bunch (45acp govt.,1873 lever, 1897 shotgun) shoot the same bullet in both calibers just to keep things as simple as possible

Lead bullets are usually sized at least 0.001'' bigger to provide a good seal and avoid leading. Since yours are PCed I doubt you need to worry about anything.

Yes, I’ve read that, thought it was 452 though?


Most .45 Colt bullits being sold are .452, but Higgenson’s sells lead .454.
For the older Colts maybe?

Could be you`re right about the .452".

.454" seems to be the most common size for 45 Colt cast bullets - probably because there are still a lot of .454" SAA revolvers out there. If they chamber they will shoot. The best accuracy with cast bullets is said to come from the widest bullet you can fit in the chamber.
