Finally get a chance to try out my new stag10 NR rifle tomorrow and was pre cleaning it when it occurred to me that the rear takedown pin looks considerably smaller than the front one... it really rocks up and down too... has anyone else noticed this(?) Is it normal?

Mine was the opposite. I needed a hammer and a punch to get it out.

There were no complaints about the first batch of these rifles, but the second wasn't nearly as good. There were a lot of quality issues that seem to have come from the rush to get them out. Nothing major, but annoying....

Ill have to look and see if the ar10 takedown pins are interchangeable then... the front one has a concave and fits flush to the left side of the receiver. The rear o e is flat like an ar15 and is recessed in 1/8". This is just great... first time in about a month that I can test it and it might be assembled with the wrong parts. Great NR concept gun, my first stag rifle....thankfully I'm not it a huntcamp 4 hours from home, but if mi e is wrong... then there are several guys at some hunt camp in the same situation.

Both of mine are concave on the end.

Did they put an AR-15 pin in there?

they must have...just great...if they screw up something as simple as a take down pin, I cant imagine how my first (and probably last) stag arms rifle will hold up.
Youd think a 2k+ rifle might be assembled with the correct parts.

You know that there is a set screw under the grip to remove any slop? It has a polymer tip IIRC.

If the issue is just tight to push out I used a dab of grease and it's been fine since.

Unfortunately no...it would be like truing to mount a large pin ar15 upper onto a small pin lower....only there's the whole bolt having to line up with the buffer tube thing. The other poster indicated his pins both had dimples, mine does not. Clearly an ar15 pin.

Yeah, Im not bashing...I just wanted to know if this was unique...I didnt even realize there was some bashing threads around. I mean they must have been a bit shocked when two huge orders came in from IRG and Arms East and #### simply happens.

Im just glad I noticed it before I shot it. The fit and finish on the rifle is top knotch, but I dont get much time off, so missing my only range day for a couple months bites.

Thanks to the Helpful BooSSted who pointed out his are both dimpled, wheras mine is not and CGNr MileageMan who suggested the titanium pins. Im going to see if I can get a fancy maple ridge comp and a set of their pins but I need to mic the takedown pin holes and email them first as stag claims they are proprietary.

They make AR-15 as well so mistakes can happen. Does it have the same grove cut in the rear side of the pin for the takedown pin detent?

Yes...maybe Im misunderstanding your question, but I think thats how most detent pins work.
Here is a few pics of mine.
I removed the upper and put the front takedown pin into the rear takedown pin hole on the upper and it fits perfect... the rear takedown pin mine came with is longer than an standardard ar15 pin...but the same thickness so you can gently push on it and it flops around in the rear takedown pin hole... So the one in my lower is too thin, and too short...Its wonky really like maybe the lower and upper takedown hole are too big???. Especially now that Ive found out the pins are propriatary im effectively screwed. THankyou stag arms for a non restricted $2500 paperweight. Maybe I can put a hook into the barrel and use it for picking up dog sh@t in the back yard.
So I guess I have to write a letter to Stag?
Here is a pic of it fully assembled , note how the rear pin has no dimple and is way too short?

Theres so much room in the lower that you can move the pin way up and down
