NEW: The Tactical Athlete Games

This is armored division on steroids, definitely would be cool to see this in some tournaments in Canada!

Fitness and proficiency with firearms definitely goes hand in hand

Let's hope so! I predict that this competition will explode in popularity especially with ex-military guys.

Would definitely need to get new shooters to get this up and running in Canada, every competition Ive been in outside of the military has about 50% of shooters that would not be able to do this due to lack of fitness or health. Awesome concept though

I consider myself to be moderately fit, I do not work in an office job I work construction so that helps, but I do not hit the gym.
I am strong enough but cardio is sometimes a killer.
Never would I be fit enough as is to seriously compete in what I just saw.

These competitions are clearly for people who hit the gym and workout hard, and I do not agree with your 50% figure.
In 3gun, IPSC and IDPA people I know around here, 80%+ would not be fit enough for this (including myself), this is seriously hardcore stuff.

And just to add, there is a difference between participating and competing to win, when I go in a match I am not aiming for last place, and to aim for first place in that type of thing, I couldn't see it happening unless being in very fit shape.

At least all those years of lifting can finally come in useful. :)

Make that 95% for ICORE. lol

However I'm still dwelling in C class IPSC, I've more than enough work to do on pistol. My AR has seen the light of day just twice.

I'm in, I run in competitive spartan races all summer. The obstacles don't look very challenging but the shooting part would make up for that. Be cool to have it held on a mountain course with the obstacles mixed with shooting stages....Aroo! pew pew....

Well, I've signed up to shoot the next one in MS. Not terribly worried about the obstacles, but I have already started getting back into jogging with a weighted plate carrier. Looks like it's going to be a hell of a good time.

Good luck and report back on your experience!
