hey guys,

Just thinking about making a 10/22 shorty with an 8inch Dlask barrel. If you installed the barrel and chopped the fore end down on a 10/22 carbine stock will it still make the minimum 26" limit? I have seen a few pictures of this but just wanted to confirm that it would remain NR.

Thanks.

Oh, I think that would be just under. I don't have mine here, but I had a 10-1/2" bbl on mine. I cut around 3" off the stock to fit my daughter and then had to add about 1/2" to bit to bring it back up to NR OAL. So, if you are going with an 8" bbl being (2.5 inches shorter than mine) I think you might be right on the cusp on NR. This one is 665mm from the end of the bbl threads to the butt:

Had a moment where I was like "I better tell Darc about this, he was talking about doing the same thing"

...
Yeah. I got your back if you need any wood working tools! :)

Mine with a factory stamped Ruger 10" barrel. Auto bolt release, and 2.5lb trigger job, pure hell on gophers out 75 yards then the .17HMR comes out. :)

Sits at 670mm OL to the threaded barrel.

Awesome! Sounds like I should be good to go. If I am a little short I could always add some length to the buttstock. Barrel has been ordered.

Yeah, I had to add a 1-inch butt pad to an ARF-X stock to get one of my shorties legal. Bonus is that it helps control the massive recoil.
