MP7 in 5.7x28mm

Well, then you apparently believe wrong. The MP7 like the FN P90 was designed as a PDW for second-echelon combat support troops as well as those specialists manning crew-served weapons, communications equipment, and so forth within conventional military forces. In other words, they were designed for soldiers whose primary job is not to fight in the presence of an armed enemy, and who need only defend themselves from lesser rear-area and asymmetric threats. Due to their handy small size, relatively high capacity and ability to penetrate most soft body armour, these PDWs immediately found favour with SOF for low-profile/clandestine operations as well as CQB door-kicking work. But they weren't designed to "slot tangos". They were designed to put down Spetsnaz soldiers wearing archaic Soviet body armour and tin helmets out to 300m from defensive firing positions in the hands of rear-echelon troops. That they were appropriated by SOF for other roles and tasks has nothing to do with their original design intent.

Exactly. Not knocking them...I have a couple of PS90's and if this comes available will be on top of it like fat kids on a sandwich.

HK (the Germans) are too stubborn to chamber the MP7 in 5.7 x 28. They should!

Fun fact, the European powers often have the Swiss Army / Military test guns and ammo. This is because they have very high technical standards on par and in some cases better than firearms testing labs.
Swiss tested both 4.6 x 30 and 5.7 x 28.

5.7 x 28 was found to be superior for many reasons. The Germans lost their minds....protested and refused to accept the results. The intent was to have NATO / European Militaries standardize a PDW round.
And......now we have two competing PDW rounds......

Just a touch of irony to add to this lamentation - the first video on page 2, with the Asian guy shooting the MP7, was filmed at PoCo in the suburbs of Vancouver, using a privately owned, semi-auto MP7. I'd dearly love to have that guy's gun collection. He has stuff both spendier and more rare than the MP7.

He's on the board.
