Is there any market for used barrels? I have a low round count 16" match barrel that I have decided is surplus to my needs, but don't know if there is any point to listing it or not.

Experiences, thoughts on value, etc. are welcome.

Thanks,
Mark

I had one on the EE a while back, it took awhile but I sold it . Cheap.
There’s so many new options at reasonable prices , it’s hard to sell a used, unless it’s a really good deal.
Maybe 50% of new price?

There will always be someone willing to pay money for your junk provided the price is right, that is premise behind Craigslist and Ebay after all

I buy used AR barrels. I haven’t had a problem with them being worn or rusted. Most guys capable of putting an AR barrel onto an upper also know how to take care of them properly. All good experiences here for me

I would be happy to get 50% of my cost for it, that seems reasonable for a used barrel. I don't think it's seen 300 rounds so far, but once it's been fired it isn't going to ever be worth much more than 50% of original.

problem is, there’s a lot of barrels being marketed as Match, or match grade.
Makes you wonder, is it or isn’t it.:)

depends on the manufacturer

It's a 16.25" McGowan SS heavy barrel chambered in .223 Wylde with a 1:8 twist, standard AR threaded muzzle. Bought it from Jerry at Mystic Precision, I have the original invoice in my records. There is nothing wrong with the barrel, I have just changed my mind on what I wanted to do with that rifle and have a different plan now.

Thanks for the thoughts, it sounds like I'm not crazy to try and sell it. I think I will list it after I get a chance to pull it off the upper and take some decent shots of the barrel by itself.
