If you could only have one

As others have said, Shadow/ Shadow 2 for IPSC, Glock or M&P for IDPA,, unless you are like jimbo14 and show up with that damn Shadow to humble us plastic fantastic IDPA fools :)
Any of the three mentioned will do you well, just comes down to which you prefer( Glock is the best) and which fits your hand best said the totally impartial Glock lover

Does anyone know of the optics ready shadow 2 with optic is legal in any competitions in canada ? 3gun IPSC IDPA
I keep hearing that it may be too heavy ??

Might want to consider something new that has factory RDS capability - seems to becoming more common with optics divisions and, well no one is getting any younger so your eyes will appreciated that option some day. Ask me how I know lol. Various Sigs, Glocks, Q5 Match, even the Shadow 2, are now offering the ability to swap in an RDS via factory mounting plate provisions.

Arguably the best Production shooter in Alberta runs a P320.

Lots of guys with CZ/Tanfo, Glock/S&W. Steel guns generally seem to have the advantage, but with the new 2019 trigger rules, it may level the field out a bit.

I can only speak for the IPSC crowd, I don't own any fishing vests.

Another Shadow fan boy here. Personally, I prefer the Shadow 1. I think it looks better, but that is just me...

What about the Shadow Phantom? They were recently re-released I believe. Are they competitive in IPSC or IDPA? Or are you losing the advantage of the extra weight and recoil management? It still has a low bore axis...

If you were still just a newbie at shooting wanting to continue plinking, doing a black badge and possibly shoot IDPA and IPSC matches, what you get?

Shadow? Glock 19(x)/17/45 (if it comes to Canada)? S&W M&P9 2.0?

I have a Norinco NP29 because I've always wanted a 1911 and wanted to make sure I bought a restricted when all the C71 nonsense started. Now I want to buy another.

If I could have only one, I wouldn't buy another, because that would be more than one and you said I could only have one.

The Walther Q5 Match looks interesting to me, been thinking of that for IPSC Production Optics

The Q5 Match is a great choice. I used it this year for production optics. It's accurate , has a great trigger, runs flawlessly.

Between the Shadow 1, Glock, M&P....The Shadow hands down if you're looking to compete, but it really comes down to whatever you like. I ditched the Shadow for the Q5 not because the Q5 is a better gun but because I like shooting it better.
