Just acquired this interesting Walther rimfire rifle in typical Tanner or Hammerli-Tanner stock, with typical Tanner left offset front sight, center positioned rear sight but left offset, bull barrel measures 1.060" in diameter, while the Hammerli-Tanner in 7.5X55 measures 0.995", with adjustable 2 stage trigger, the trigger guard seems to be polymer.
The series number is 68###.
Could not find any information on the internet about Walther rifle with the same configuration.
The rear one in the photo is Hammerli-Tanner in 7.5X55.
Any information would be very appreciated.
Thanks!

I am not familiar with a Walther model with offset sights. Of course that could be simply a result of ignorance.

Stampfli Waffen is/was a firearms store or business in Luzern, Switzerland. h t t p://www.stampfli-waffen.ch/

I wrote to Stampfli Waffen which name is on the barrel, hope can get some information.

Unique piece for sure. Looks like a UIT Reciever (small bolt knob) married to a Laufenschiebe/Running Boar trigger group (not push button dual weight, single adjust) , and barrel, and a custom stock to boot.

Def hang on to that one.

I think its a Walther Wehrsport.

A military trainer? Those models were likely older than this 1963 design.

It does appear to be a custom stock, that is a non-Walther stock, on this barreled action.

One of the difficulties in identifying Walther rifles is that the manufacturer did not stamp a model number or name on its rifles. Barrel profiles and lengths differed between some models, as did stocks. The receivers for Walther single shot target rifles were all very similar (if not the same). While the size of the bolt knob may have changed, the bolts did not. Walther triggers on match target rifles were also very similar (if not the same), differing more by year than model of rifle and may have had different trigger blades. The trigger on the KKJ-T, which had the push button, dual weight design referred to above, was not available on other models (except perhaps on other sporters). Of course, sporter triggers and match triggers are different on Walther rifles.

UIT Target has push button trigger :) I own one

Got to sight it in today, and shot 3 five-shot group at 50 yards; It went bang every time and extracted the case clearly. Very happy with it. The trigger is great by the way.

Looks like a KKM Match rifle to me, they differed by looks a wee bit depending on year of manufacture

There is a difference between the KKM and the UIT but I am sworn to secrecy and can't disclose what that is
