New ultrasound owner

Might be ok but are you willing to gamble on it? I'd consider it an educational experience, I'd change them out and try to be more careful in the future.

Shoot and deprime. Don't waste a bullet and powder on it. Primers are $.04 each, but bullets and powder are way more.

Thanks a bunch for the update. I am very surprised - I was really sure that the sonic cleaner would have "scoured" all the priming compound out of the primer cups. I've read that sonic cleaners can actually lift chrome, if it's not really secure. Live and learn, huh ?
 
Some years ago, I sprayed WD-40 on a number of primers, left them over night, then the next day I put them on a steel bench and hit each of them with a hammer. I don't recall hearing an audible bang, typical from a normal primer ignition, from any of them, but most of them made smoke, so while none would not have initiated the powder charge in a cartridge reliably, the danger of hangfires could not be discounted. At that point I began to doubt the wisdom of soaking primers in oil, then declaring them inert.
