I decided to build a 10/22 as a keeper. The first of my parts arrived today.

I ordered a Victor Titan stock and will be going with (most likely) all KIDD parts for the rest of the build.

Stupid question, can you build a 10/22 without actually buying a ruger 10/22?

Im genuinely curious, sounds like assembling a 10/22 from parts only would be cheaper then buying a stock 10/22 and replacing everything.

Yes, definitely. I just built one from parts, I picked up a Dlask receiver, barrel, and bolt/charging handle. Kidd spring kit, bolt buffer, and trigger pins. And put it all in a magpul x-22 stock. The only Ruger part I used was a trigger assembly I picked up off the EE. (I did this to save a bit of cash)

Wow finally in stock. Anybody have experience with the flat top receiver? Is it slightly less tall with an aftermarket picatinny rail vs the one win built in rail? I used to have a dlask receiver with built in rail. Was kinda tall
