Try it again, it's all made by CCI (Federal and Hornady). You probably just had a bad lot last time, not that QC on CCI .17 HMR is something to write home about... but at least it's not as bad as Winchester

The previous post is correct. CCI makes most if not all the 17HMR ammo available. Winchester 17HMR may be different but has had a poor reputation. Sellier & Bellot has made 17HMR ammo but it's not listed on it's website.

I know CCI makes it all, and have experienced cruddy Winchester 22LR, 17HMR and 22WMR. For whatever reason, my rifle shoots the Hornady 17gr. best, definitely better than the Federal. I've always assumed it's a powder difference, charge difference, or both. I could be wrong on all fronts, but I keep feeding it Hornady and it's happy to eat it.

Nice to see ammo deals. I think they had hornady last year for $8.99
