The Ross (Mk III) was designed for Mk VII ammunition which was as you might know a spitzer type bullet, I have read that the Ross had difficulty with round nose cartridges (Mk VI type), is this still true? Does anyone feed reloads with round nose, if so any issues with it?

I use hornady round nose with excellent results, both feeding and accuracy...catnip.

Same here- 174 gr RN Hornady work fine. Also have used 180 gr Sierra SP and Bullet Barn180 Gr cast. No issues with feeding.
If you are using the original military sights and the barrel is still original length, you will likely find that the rifle will shoot high at 100 yards.
Batle aperture was calibrated for something like 400 yds

Great to know that you are both having great results! I have a Mk III so I can actually calibrate the range around, my lowest setting is 200 but with a six'o clock hold it pretty much hits targets quite well it seems with my lighter loads.

I've shot at least 4 types of round nose bullets in both cast and jacketed and never a feeding issue with my Ross mk3 or any of the mk2s in the fleet..
