Win Defender Ejector Help

We were stripping my Defender last night to paint it and the ejector fell out. Now we can't get it back in. There is a pin sticking out of the receiver (inside) and a spring with a channel for it to go in.

Every other time I've stripped it, the ejector stays inside, but for whatever reason, it popped out this time. Can anyone give me advice? It has to be an easy fix and I don't want to have to bring it to a smith.

I can take some pics tomorrow evening if need be.

Spring goes on the tail of the ejector, slot in the ejector hooks over the pin you mentionned.

Thats what we thought, but we couldn't get the pin in the slot. I guess we need smaller fingers....might have to get the wives involved.

You need to have the bolt removed to get it back on the pin.....
