de activated revolvers

hey there.
I was wondering does anyone sell non functioning replica revolvers? My autistic son loves revolvers, but hates the bang of real guns. looking for the heft and mechanical action of the real thing. any ideas/ suggestions?
thanks

I don't know if it's been said, but to answer your question, no there is no such thing as a replica. There used to be a fine line of soft metal ones that functioned but those are all prohibited and illegal now (OK to own but not manufacture, import, buy or sell). There are airsoft/pellet guns that might do the trick and of course real ones that have been deactivated by welding solid. That said, as others have mentioned, take care and let your son enjoy safely at home.

If he likes single action revolvers check these out...replicaguns.ca

Ignore the ignorant and judgmental comments, as a parent I'm sure you have his best interests in mind and wouldn't let him put himself in a position or situation that would have negative consequences.

True, but you cannot say it. This is 2018; some people in 2018 are easily offended, so - even if the core message happens to be true - there are some words that the rest of us are simply not allowed to say.

.

The politically correct movement is way to strong and people are offended far to easy. But having said that, this statement was genuinely offensive. It was mean spirited. They are right to be offended.

Epps has a partially deactivated S&W Victory, $199. It would be another $75 to fully deactivate to legal requirement. The cylinder is welded shut, but still rotates. Don't know what's involved in deactivation.

And I quote:

NOT LEGAL DEACTIVATION, WILL REQUIRE APPROXIMATELY $75.00 TO COMPLETE

What the OP asked for - i.e.: a deactivated modern revolver that still works - doesn't exist, except as a 'replica', and the only new 'replica' that would be available to the OP would be a 'replica' of an 'antique'.

Hopefully the ERT team will recognize what there're looking at - meaning a 'replica', rather than a live firearm - BEFORE they drop the hammer.

As the OP obviously has firearms himself, I'd assume he had the sense to think things through before posting his question here. I'd suggest airsoft or pellet/bb guns. Some of them are hard to tell from the real thing.

Hey guys thanks for the info.. I spoke to the guys at replica guns, nice guys good service, too bad he doesn't want a western gun. I decided to go with the co2 revolver its under the legal fps so no worries there. I doubt he will ever actually arm it . He just likes the feel of making the cylinder revolve. I appreciate everyone having my back about the hateful comment. Sorry to say I hear that crap fairly frequently.

Just make sure you paint it some bright colour so nobody would think it's a real pistol!
