scope mounting on sks

I bought the 2x6x32 because of its length. If it holds zero (the mount) I might put something bigger on it.

i tried 3-9x40 on the futong mount but the scope was too big , the type of shell deflector i was using was getting in the way .

I have the 3-9x42 Fitco scope with bullet drop compensator and no brass deflector...

thanks for the pic. looks good....and you had no problem with a shell hitting the front of your scope? my sks ejects staight up once in awhile so thats why i had to use a deflector.

i prefer red dots and holo sights on sks with a scout mount it has worked for me

i may try that too.

There are no marks at all on the bottom of the scope. My SKS seems to spit them out the side. I have around 80 rounds through it maybe 100 tops with the scope. Perhaps I am just lucky!

Where did you pick up thie scope on the SKS?? I really want one.

if you dont mine DAR, i will answer his question.

same place where DAR 701 and i picked up the SKS scope mount ($9.50).

ww w.futong.com. you would have to get rid of the space between the Ws to get to the site.

the scope comes with rings and mount for $39.50 but they are out of stock . they do have others .

How well did the receiver mount fit?
Does the bolt move ok?

Fits nice and tight, no movement of the mount. The bolt is unimpeded and the rifle runs just fine. I still would prefer a side mount, kalinka style but that would have to wait till I get some more mad money. This setup will do for the summer. I only shoot non-corrosive so I leave the bolt assembly in the rifle when I clean, otherwise the reciever cover mount would get pretty annoying pretty quick when shooting corrosive ammo.

What scope and rings on the .22?

Hawktech 30mm High 9-11mm Dovetail Rings with a Fitco 3-12x44 Side Focus illuminated reticle mildot scope with 1/4" per click target turrets. Total cost, 92 dollars for scope and rings tax paid shipped to my door. This setup fits perfectly on the TOZ-78 and works like a charm!

One problem with the side mounts is they might cover the rifles serial numbers. :(

The side rails are attached with screws right? Then the mount can be removed and the serial numbers presented in the extremely rare case of a check by a police officer. As long as you are not drilling the holes through the serial number then you should be ok.
