Thinking about getting a Shadow 2(not for competition), just for the range and maybe shooting practice.

Wondering if there is any difference between these 2 apart from colors?
A.https://www.gotenda.com/shop/firearms/handguns/cz-shadow-2-pistol-9mm-pre-order-100-gift-card/
B.https://www.gotenda.com/shop/firearms/handguns/cz-shadow-2-pistol-9mm-dary-grey-special-model/

It looks like A is a later model, which the model has a optics ready option with same color.

If not getting Shadow 2, what else would be a good one?
Desert Eagle seems quiet expensive for both ammo and the gun
1911 kind of pistol, not really a classic history firearm fan.
Got a Beretta already, unless something really good, may not get the same brand gun again and agin.
Not sure about Sig or Glock. Glock seems too common, not really worth to spend that money for 2nd or 3rd pistol from what I see from the models on the market. Sig has too many variants with different configurations and parts.

Anything else?

Nothing wrong with the Shadow 2 or Shadow 1. Both excellent and will likely outshoot you.

But, by your post, it sounds like you’re looking for slightly more unusual guns. If you got the coin, get a HK P7 series or a SIG P210.

If you’re still hooked on the Beretta, get the Wilson Combat variant. For the SIG P226, get the Mk.25. For an HK, get the Mk.23 ( its a .45 but it will get people talking at the range).

Thank you for you advice.

Probably not really unusual pistols, but more like a minority but still good ones.

I will check the SIG and HK out.

By the way, any recommendation for the good optics can be used on the Shadow 2?

If you're looking for an optic ready pistol the Walther Q5 Match is a good option. I run mine with a Vortex Viper. Can't beat the Vortex warranty.

The OP ought to take a peek at the SIG 320 XFive. It doesn't quite have the trigger the PPQ has but it can become a lego gun in a hurry with all the caliber, frame and barrel lengths available due to it's modularity. With it's weight it makes a great platform for an Optic. Much better than a Shadow2 IMHO. The Shadow2 is a great gun for IPSC Production but little else. It weights a ton, and for most not any better than the Shadow1 for most shooters and costs another $600 including tax.

Take Care

Thanks.

I had a thought about getting a Sig maybe P226 or the new P320, but hasn't figured out from all those model variants with different configurations.

Shadow 2 seems a pistol born for shooting competition, it's heavy due to the material, like you said it's little else from competition.

What about just a normal pistol but with style , good quality and performance? I was considering shadow 2 but not for competition, just range shooting and maybe personal shooting practice. Thought it could be helpful when practice with a Shadow 2.

There is a Shadow 2 Optic model that has a milled slide for optic base. Als has some in stock, not sure if they sold out but it's a sign they're trickling in.

If your not into competitive shooting a Shadow 1 will be a great pistol for you. I like 1911's and they are also a good choice. Nothing wrong with a tried and true design.

If you a leaning towards a gun with a optic you might want to look at the Sig 226RX It comes with the Sig Romeo 1 already mounted. I have one and quite like it.

If you are looking for an excellent range gun get the regular Shadow. For around $800 they are a great buy. You will have about $400 for ammo in your pocket. For competition the Shadow2 is the better gun although I doubt buying it will make you a Master shooter but you will be very good at what ever level your talent level is at. The Shadow2 is to heavy for IDPA by rule if you were to be drawn to that sport in the future.
