.280 ammo

What has been everyone's experience with factory loads in their 280? I've been trying out a few with varied results. Ruger M77 22" barrel.
Most factory ammo shoots near moa or better with the exception of superformance sst. I had atrocious patterns at 200 yards with some brand new 139gr sst that made me question the accuracy of the gun or if I had bumped the scope loose. But I ran a couple of my old trusty corelokts through and had sub-moa groupings.
 
My 280 really likes the Federal Premium 140 gr AccuBond ammo (1/2 MOA). Unfortunately, they stopped producing this, and is hard to find.
Have some of the Nosler Trophy Grade ammo with the 140 gr AB, but haven't tried it as yet.
Have tried some of the Hornady Superformance ammo, and it is good to very good, accuracy wise (1 to 1 1/2 MOA). Just not as accurate in my rifle.
Some rifles just show a preference for certainbullets, bullet weights, or bullet/powder combinations.
Past 280 rifles shot the heavier 160 gr ammo very well, and is a good choice for moose and elk. Have not tried the heavier bullets in this rifle yet as I am shooting the 160 gr AccuBonds in my STW.
 
I've had success with the Federal Premium Trophy Bonded tip 140 gr. bullets hunting.

I must have spent $200 trying different boxes of ammo before I realized the scope was faulty. By the time I had it repaired I ony had partial boxes of Federal Fusion, Federal premium with Nosler partitions and Federal with ballistic tips and when Cabela's had the Trophy bonded tips on sale for $40 a box I got three and settled with them. I'll bet any of theo thers would have been just as good. I did get one deer with the Fusions but that was a huge fluke. The gun was wildly inaccurate at the time. I aimed for the heart-lung area and drilled it through the neck. That's when I knew something was terribly wrong.

My hunting partner has a 700 Stainless Synthetic that he bought in 1991 and has shot nothing in it but 165gr Cor-Lokt RN and everything he points it at just dies. He's shot a truck load of monster bucks and about 12-15 Northern Ontario moose, both bulls and cows. Easy to shoot, manageable recoil and accurate like a laser.

I had a #1B in .280 for a while and shot a few deer and a bunch of coyotes with it but all I shot was handloads - usually 140gr Partitions...
 
Are those handloads or factory Remington loads?
