I'm wondering if anyone in Canada has one of these yet and if so what do you think of it? I've always owned handguns with calibers starting with a 4 but I figure it's time to get my self a 9mm. I like the idea of the X5 Tactical because of the 5" barrel and the single action trigger. Also what do these cost here in Canada?

Here is a picture.

I tried one in the US. It has an aluminum frame, because of the fact the standard X-5 is a bit on the heavy side. Very heavy in fact, it's even heavier than the P226ST which is a heavy pistol.

So yeah, it doesn't have that problem, but then neither does the standard P226 which is way cheaper.

It's a lot of money just to get a P226 with an SA trigger.

Can't really see the point to the 9mm model in Canada either, given the mag ban, the .40 makes more sense.

Not too keen on the safety on the X-5, it's not as positive as on an STI for example, because it's so rounded.

Personally I think buying a standard P226 and getting a decent trigger job is a more cost-effective solution. But you have to live with the DA trigger.

That would be a great SA 9mm! Top quality SIG if you can afford it. I have this on my wish list if I can sell 2 of my 12.6's. Are you planning on picking one up if you can find it? Would love to hear if the 5" barrel makes that much difference for instintive shooting. Nice choice to say the least:)

Questar has one in for $1999.

Not exactly... the gun you are referring to has never been imported to Canada before... it is an X-FIVE SHORT SO SA/DA.

It has a shorter slide, 112mm barrel, PVD coating, SIGLITE sights, Rail, etc.. It is built by SIG-Sauer's MasterShop in Germany.
