Colt Canada SA 15.7

Great choice! Current-issue for Canadian Light Infantry units and armoured vehicle crews. I carried one new out of the shipping carton throughout a year of work-up training and then my last deployment to Afghanistan. I fired literally thousands of rounds through that carbine both in training and in combat and it never let me down. Not a single malfunction was attributable to the carbine itself, although the occasional bad mag had to be weeded out of circulation. The 15.7 is an outstanding carbine that you can stake your life on. I did, and it served me very well indeed.

OP: i could go on and on but Mr Bartok5 did sum it up very well. From personnal/professionnal experience, it will take more abuse that you can throw at it and ask for more. Its a tough, reliable and accurate gun that you can trust with your life.

I carried the C7/C8 for 15 years in my career both overseas and in a multitude of environments. I wasn't even in the market for an AR when Colt Canada announced they were releasing these but as soon as I learned I had a chance to own one, I had my money in without a second thought. Of all the firearms I own, it will be the first one I save from a fire and the first one I would bet my life on.

-Saryet, out!-

I just picked up one of these fine rifles. Now just gotta figure out which optic I will go with lol. It's got a elcan spectre os3.0 on it rite now. I may go with a aimpoint comp4 tho.

Gotta wait for my registration certificate before I can hit the range. Hopefully it shows up this coming week

Nice! You will be very happy....

I needed it like a hole in the head lol, but it's a Christmas present to myself lol. When I unboxed it my wife asked if I bought her one lol. She has "claimed" it as hers lol. Iam pumped for it

They work. Not much else to say... there are other feature rich options from rivals to consider. But that's as close you are getting to the ones for spec as what's out at mali, latvia, iraq etc right now.

Out of curiousity why the sa over a mrr?

What do you gentlemen think of fab defence hangaurds, stock and grip for it?

Accessories are personal taste. Go with what floats your boat. I have a fab grip on my cz858 and as for quality they seem pretty par for the course. Nothing special but i wouldn't say they are bottom of the barrel either.

I wanted more of the old school look lol. My next colt canads purchase will be a mrr. I will likely just use a red dot for a optics. Even out at 300m I use redots or irons. A figure 11 sized target that is

One of the reasons I mention fab defence is that a site sponcer has stocks for sale for less than 1/2 price lol. Was gonna go od green and figured I mite as well get other goodies as well. If I could get the propper triad rail I would rock the factory hand guards

You can get the bcm. Unless you purely want clone correctness and had to have the cast piece we use i would recommend the bcm. Unless you were talking functionality... in which case skip that outright for a different handguard because you are adding limited rail space for more weight at the end.

And fab will work. If you like it get it.

I will look into the bcm. I didn't even think of it lol.

Triad rails show up fairly regularly on the EE.

I’d personally stick with the Elcan OS 3 but I’m a big fan of magnification. It looks like a promising optic and I think they’ve been discontinued.

I've had my elcan for I bet 10 years now, got it on the ee fron one of our members. I find it tricky to get the propper eye relief, but on this ar its good

Yes, short eye relief is my biggest complaint as well but I’ve been using a C79 for so long that I’ve learned to live with it. Great glass.

Ya great glass for sure. I do like the 3x site, good for close up and out to 300m od more( shooting at figure 11 sizes targets that is lol). I'm surprised myself the other day by hitting a 18x30 silhouette target 7 out of 10 rounds at 250m with my 10.5 inch barreled ar lol. I was using iron sites as well. That was off the knee and prone, I only use a table and rest when sitting in a rifle
