Rise of the Bullpup

I love the idea and concept of a bullpup but do not think that they are yet at the stage where they have all the features I am used to on my ARs. Especially being left handed, the MDR is the first bullpup I've taken a serious look at. Once they land if the reviews are promising I may take the plunge.

I was on the fence for a long time about getting a NR X95 because its a bullpup, I finally did and I am not disappointed after my first time shooting it. Yes it is kinda awkward at first coming from only owning AR15 rifles previous to this purchase. The bolt lock/release location is a little weird as is the magazine changes, but I will get used to it and it was not annoying enough that I would say I don't want the rifle anymore.

I am a mods guy however so I switched out the trigger pack for a Geissele super saber trigger pack before even shooting it, and I just got their Super Sabra Lightening bow installed, so its even better now. That being said dry firing the stock X95 tigger did not feel any better or worse then your average stock AR15 trigger IMO, but again its hard for me to really get into that as I have aftermarket triggers in pretty much every rifle and pistol I own. I also have a riser rail system that makes the height of the optic I put on it higher then OEM. And I just ordered a whole bunch of other accessories for it.

Its an interesting gun, I am not selling it any time soon, and will consider other bullpups more seriously now

bullpups are awesome-money not issue so trigger addition--of (x95 trigger pack to tav 21)--tavD trigger pack or super sabra completes the tavs--small is good in any scenario---and yes not a tack driver at 300-400 meters but not supposed to be---i can buy anything i want but bullpup tavs are my personal favorite...

^ seconded, Ugliest rifle I have ever seen and i like all the crazy looking bullpups.

The DP12 is one of the most amazing, quality built firearms I have ever seen. The thing functions flawless, Never had a misfire, no complaints with the trigger, shoot skeet with it, shoots slugs all day, even feeds anything from the 1 3/4 mini shells to 3" slugs. I've even put random mixes of mini, 2 3/4 and 3" and it always feeds. Only downside would be how complex the thing is for disassembly but when you pump it you can get at everyting you need to for a basic cleaning.

The only issue I had with my RDB was a FTF when I turned the gas too low. A few clicks back up and she was running smooth again. The trigger is quite good but I'm going to order the trigger spring from MCARBO and drop the pull down to 2,5lbs. Mine runs fine with metal or plastic mags

I owned an AUG at one time and I've shot a Tavor, so far though, the humble RDB has the best out of the box trigger on any of the bullpups I've shot.

I am exceptionally jealous of you. I love the aug. Yes the trigger is not good. But overall the a3 model is my favourite by far.

Did someone say bullpups? I must admit, as much as I like ARs, bullpups have their own quirky appeal to me.

I already have:

FS2000
Tavor Gen 2.5
DTA SRSA1

I used to have a T97, but it couldn't hold a candle to the FS or Tavor.

Next is the:

MDR
RDB
PS90
F12 bullpup

I had the Tavor. Was overall a great rifle. Fed everything and never had a single hiccup in about 5500rds. My major complaint is the price and the horrible trigger. In order to improve the trigger you have to spend $750 on an already expensive rifle. The Desert Tech is supposed to have a trigger on par with a Mil-Spec AR but I would think it will come in at the $4000 range, putting it on par or close to a X95 with a Geissele. I had the Timney in mine and it had a pull weight of just south of 4lb's.

Bullpup Rifles are love it or hate for the most part it seems. I am somewhere in the middle, do not hate them but do not love them either.

You can fix the Tavor trigger with a $2 piece of music wire from a spring supplier. Mine is 4 lbs.

Interesting, is there a guide on how to do this?

I just took the trigger pack a part and made a trigger spring out of music wire that is. 045" diameter instead of the. 055" stock diameter. I also lightened
the reset spring and polished the sear. I could have made it lighter but I wanted it at 4 lbs. It is not as hard as it seems once you get at it. I am too cheap to spend $400 on an aftermarket trigger. I think it took a couple of hours to do.
