Hey guys,

So boxing day is coming and i will be on the lookout for great deal for a semi-shotgun.

What would you guy recommend as an all purpose semi shotgun? It will mostly be used for trap, small game and as bear defense. I am not interested in hunting anything else at the moment but id still like to option if i ever get to it. Adjustable choke is a must, any recommendation guy? I had my eye on the Mossberg 930 but i have seen people complain about plastic part breaking and replacement being inexistant. The Stoeger M3000 look nice too, never saw anything against it other than the “turkish crap” without any real complain.

What would you guy recommend? Budget is around 6-800$

Way too expensive for my budget

Better to buy a used X3 than a new piece of crap IMO. $800 would buy a 3" if you did some looking
OR my bud does everything including his deer hunting with an old remington 1187 which I have also but if I was to keep one semi to do everything it would be a X3
Cheers

...What's your budget? To get a decent all around semi-auto shotgun, you're not going to find much decent for under at least a grand?

And do you actually want an adjustable choke? Or just removable chokes?

My shotgun knowledge is extremly limited, i mean i want to be able to remove the threaded choke and
switch it to another choke

Ill keep an eye open, 800 buck would be a decent price for what i intend to use it

You sais you had one? Does it cycle reliably with target load?

Mine does but I never shoot less than one ounce either which is the lightest I go
Perhaps other X3 owners will chime in
Then again if you don't reload you are more than likely going to shoot 1 1/8 oz which will be fine
Send the member a pm and ask him how it worked on target loads
Cheers

Why are the Turkish shotguns getting such a bad rap?
Any brand names from that country which are of special concern?
If you search far and wide, it appears all brands and models can be plagued with issues...Turkish or not...

There are guys that sware by them. I guess it is what you have compared them to
They are not and never will be B guns as an example
But hey for what some cost if they do the job and go bang to each their own
A x3 for me would be what I would class as the lowest grade of semi I would put any money out for
that works just as well as any B gun
Cheers

It sure is a nice one but id prefer one with plastic furniture. I intend to drag this shotgun trough hell and back, it would be a shame to damage such a nice stock. And i would probably save a few buck by grabbing a plastic one

No plastic will be more in this case or the same
It is not a collectors piece so you mark it up like it was made for
