Stag 10 issues?

To those that have had issues with the gas block being off centre, how much are we talking about? Mine has had feeding issues and I checked it, it is off buy only a touch, maybe a 1/8th inch off centre. Is that enough to affect the gas supply?

With the gas block being off by 1/8" I would guess that the gas hole would be blocked. Mine looked correct but I removed it before even putting any rounds down the barrel and re installed it with loctite and have not had any issues what so ever.

AR10s should all have adjustable gas blocks. This is why everyone that built these rifles from stripped sets have zero issues.

Theres a reason these complete guns are so cheap. They cut cost buy using cheap conponents.

I really want to buy a Stag 10, but in light of the quality control issues I've been reading about on hear I am hesitant to buy one. I went as far a writing Arms East, to ask if they could guarantee the product they sell, before the sale. To date they have not responded to my email. Be it as it may, I feel that if I'm going to pay about $2500 dollars on a product, I have an expectation that the product will have very good fit and finish, as well as, flawless operation. If that's not the case, that makes me very hesitant to purchase the product. If I can by an SKS, that is very well built and works very well, for a few hundred dollars, then my expectations for a rifle that would cost me considerably more, are way up there.

My Stag10 got delivered today. I'll see how fit/finish etc is like when I get home. I'll de adding an adjustable gas block in the near future.

For someone like myself who doesn't want to maintain many rifles, this rifle was DEFINITELY worth the 2500$.
It's not an SKS, but an SKS finish is nowhere near as good as this rifle. Really, only my gas block was off a bit.

If they only test a single round to verify accuracy and functionality, then they would never notice the block was off center.

I wasted 100 rounds before figuring out it was the gas block. Now, I don't regret buying it at all...

I love it so much, debating making it perfect t with lighter barrel and handguard. Even if it brings it to 4,000.

And no, I'm not rich, I just think it's worth it to have a single rifle to maintain, and I sell the previous 5 rifles I had.

people don’t realize how good Stoner black rifles are

I need to unload a few firearms to be able to buy a stag 10. The problem is, I don't know what to get rid of, cause I like them all. Though, I must get rid of something before I buy a stag 10, or else. The "or else" is an implied threat from my wife.:)

Best bet is to grab a receiver set and collect your parts as you can afford them.
the plus side to this is a rifle tailored to your specific needs and wants as well as fitting it into your budget.

I completely agree with this approach.
Being my first experience with an AR, I got mine complete.
I also didn't want to risk any arguments with LEOs about it being unrestricted. If I had most confidence at the time, I would definitely assemble from the receiver up.

This is the right idea.

Mine, built cost "at the moment" came to a total of $935.00

Admittedly, I had piles of parts laying around, so that kept it to that. I'd have to look back to see what actual cost would be from the miscellaneous components and when I purchased them. But economy can be had, if time is not an issue.

I thought about buying complete but didn't really need/want 6.5 creedmor or any more semi auto .308 seeing as I have 2 hot rodded LRB m14 builds already. So instead of buying one built stag-10 , I bought 2 receiver sets and some parts. Going with receiver up builds allows me to build in calibers that also work with the .308 bolt assembly, like 7mm-08 and .338 federal.

I'm afraid to look... Lol.
I think it was 2400 for complete rifle, 280$ two stage trigger, 130$ mounts, and 400$ optic.
Next is 600$ barrel, 300$ handguard, and possibly 200$ BCG to save weight.

I would have saved a LOT by assembling myself.
And after taking mine apart, it's pretty easy to piece together.

This being my first AR I also went with a complete rifle, the magpul enhanced in .308. I looked at the cost of doing a build for cheap and figured that any savings weren't worth it. It helped that I got lucky at a sale and was able to save a bit, easy decision.

I have yet to fire it but hope to correct that soon, got hirt and GMM among others to try but those will be the main fodder.
