Colt Canada SA 15.7

Mediocore reticle. If they put the os4 reticle and a fo/tritium battery free optic maybe...

The reticle is a bit busy for my liking. Could of done without the rubber picatinney rails as well lol. I have used the range finder in the bottom left corner to some success. I've used it on fence posts lol. I confirmed the range with a actual range finder

OS3 has been around around for a long time, it was before Spectre DR 1-4 was adopted by the USSOCOM I believe. It has by far missed the mark for this kind of low power optical sight.

Things like finger adjustable knobs for a low power combat sight is not necessary and it is more of a liability on a general issue carbine or rifle. Internal BDC is the way to go. The thing is also a bit on the size of being "big". Even 1-6 and 1-8 vari-power scopes that are adopted as the common squad optic like the NF ATAC 1-8X have capped turrets.

Also, the thick rubber skin around the eye piece cuts down the peripheral vision. The reason ACOG ( as well some other 1-4X/6X scopes) can be shot both eyes open and at Ok speed at close range because they are thin around the eye piece. Thick material around the eye piece means thick black ring around the sight picture that covers up peripheral vision, especially worse for optical sight with short eye relief when the shooter's eyes are already close to the eye piece.

And of course the amount of "stuff" at the 12 o'clock means it is even a bit more harder to just tilt the head to look over the sight to see what it is happening down range.

My wife and I got to the range, she had a vortex red dot to zero on her udp 9mm and I had my elcan on a cc carbine and a aimpoint comp4 to zero on a 10.5 inch barrel carbine.

I zeroed the elcan at 100 yards. It was nice to have the magnification at that distance and farther out. It was also handy up to 50 yards. As greentips mentioned it blocked my perifial vision at any distance closer than 50 yards. Iam gonna keep this optic on this rifle for now.

The 15.7 inch barrel is WAY quieter than 10.5 lol
