All purpose semi shotgun?

It sure is a nice one but id prefer one with plastic furniture. I intend to drag this shotgun trough hell and back, it would be a shame to damage such a nice stock. And i would probably save a few buck by grabbing a plastic one

Guns are meant to be used. Some for targets, some for hunting, some for killing enemy soldiers. None are made to hang out in gun safes chatting with other guns about how horrible it is “outside” and how Jerry got a stock scratch “out there”. Buy whichever gun makes you happy and use the heck out of it. When someone asks you about the scratches, worn spots etc, tell them the story of how you shot a limit of ducks and were trying to get back to the truck in time to pick your kids up when you stepped in a hole and fell on your gun, then used it to help yourself up because the decoys and dead ducks were weighing you down.

Or you know, whichever story happens to you while you’re out using your gun as it was intended to be used. None of em are ever gonna make us rich because they stayed shiny new.

I own a range of shotguns, ranging in price from the mid to high 700s to 2500. I bought two Stoeges just recently. One is an M3K and the other is an M3500. No word of a lie, the Stoegers have become two of my favorites. I did not have any issues with extraction, but I did swap the extractor for Benelli extractors. I did buy two Carlson (Benelli) rifled choke tubes). They fire everything from 3.5 inch to light 2 3/4 inch loads. The 2 3/4 inch loads need to be no less than 3 dram equivalent to function reliably. They are drilled and tapped for mounting an optic. I also like that I can ghost load them. Did I mention that I they are two of my favorites.

At this point i think if some of these offering we’re really terrible we would have heard about it. Kinda like everyone bash NEA. I see many people saying turkish shotgun are cheap but almost all people who got one seems to like them. I understand those are not high quality shotgun with awesome fit and finish, but if it work and shoot im happy. Will try to go at my LGS see if they have anything to give me a general idea

Just wondering compared to what other semi's you own to we can get an idea what they are being compared against
Cheers

Sorry for taking you off track when I offered a quality semi against your original post so my mistake
Enjoy your economical turkey made creation
By the way I do have two turkey guns an AKKAR in a pump and Weatherby in the semi. Akkar fits and feels terrible and if not for a 28ga would have never bought it but I collect 28ga. Weatherby goes bang when I ask it to
Like I said earlier they are no B guns and I never hear anyone bashing them
But hey to each their own
All the best

There are other parts of a gun besides the furniture you dont want to damage. Any firearm requires a certain amount of care when carrying.

This attitude that any wood gun needs to be a safe queen is a little tiresome. Do I smash rocks with my wood stocked guns? No, but I dont do it with my plastic guns either.

If you are just looking for a simple, cheap semi, I would look at a Mossberg 930. You can get the plain jane 930 for around $500 if you keep an eye out. Heck I saw a turkey model for $400 on one of our sponsor pages (can't for the life of me remember who). I haven't heard anything bad about the 930 myself, most people seem to like them.

My all purpose shotgun is a Beretta 1301 Comp with a 21” barrel.
It is light, fast, and reliable - a very nice “do it all” gun.

There is a competition Mossberg 930 Jm addition I have seen go for $800ish on sale
I was going to buy one, but after some recommendations got a beretta 1301 comp gen2 and it is great handles pretty much any type of shell, even low recoil, have not tried mini shells.
But it’s a little more expensive at 1200-1500 worth every penny.

There is also the fabarm sat8 for around 1k
Stoeger also has a competition model m3k that’s affordable.

A SBE, which I sold after getting the Stoegers. I now have two shotguns for less than the price of the SBE. I may yet regret selling the SBE, but to date, the Stoegers have not missed a beat. I have 1100s and an 11-87 that have served me very well over the years. The 1100s are not as versatile as the 11-87. Yet by switching from one 1100 to the other, I have hunted duck, upland game, and deer. Of course I have. double and an over and under Browning which I also love. But they are not relevant to this discussion.

Understand. I can see why now they would be a go to gun for you in your semi collection
Don't get me wrong I still have my 1100's and one 1187 . Shot the crap out of the 1100's over the years but compared to a maxus or A400 they are not in the same league IMO
take care

I've had great success with my 930, fired over a thousand rounds easily, no problems. An 11-87 or 1100 would also be a good choice.

But you're in luck. Because you don't intend to shoot steel shot, you have a wider variety of older guns to chose from. And ones that may have had a Polychoke put on it. Ugly, yes. Versatile, also yes. So an older 1100, Browning A-5, etc would be right up your alley and cheaper, too.

I have never owned either. Nonetheless, the 1100s and the 11-87 have always worked flawlessly, so. iI only strayed once with the purchase of an expensive shotgun(SBE). Truthfully, if not for the Stoegers I would have gladly gone back to the 1100 and the 11-87. Yes the SBE was a great gun, but it never really grew on me. Maybe, I just kept thinking that for the price of this one gun, I could buy two or three of something else. Finally, that's what I did. Even so the 1100s and the 11-87 will be my first choice of go to gun. They go bang every time, and they fit me to perfection.

And there is nothing wrong with that.Me I bought a browning gold when they came out new for like 750 and that spoiled me :) I think
Plus I had a new mossberg 9200 semi fall apart in my hands, splitting the bolt etc so never looked at a mossy again
take care

Exactly Winchester believe that the Turks can produce their guns for them at least..

I'm happy with my Winchester SX4. Not many used ones for sale but you could find one in your price range. It has more common parts with the Browning Maxus than the SX3. It's also a bit cheaper.
