...:D who woulda guessed?

this will be my fourth 260, although one doesnt really count as I only put 20 rounds through it before I sent it away to be rebarreled.

Thanks to Bronco_Mudder for the heads up , I managed to get one of the last 700 Titaniums for sale in Canada. Should have it in early August. I plan on mounting either a FXII 6x36 or a VXII 3-9x33 Ultralite, sometime before next spring. For this fall I'll steal the scope off my 243, a VXII 3-9x40. In a set of talley lightweights it should come in around 6 lbs scoped

I will let you guys know how it shoots. :dancingbanana:

well...there is the new 'Alaskan Ti' for 2007, which is a pound heavier and a thousand bucks more, all for a light varmint fluted barrel and BDL floorplate...:puke:and its not available in 260 Remington, although chambering list has grown alot from the prior Titanium model.

IMO Remington had a great thing going with the original Titanium, and they've gone and ####ed it up big time...:kickInTheNuts:

So, you have two now, or you sold the custom one and are buying another??

dusty61 just bought another one but it's a real rifle, you know a Sako ,not a (cough cough) Remington.
All kidding aside the deciding factor was the 3/8" group he shot with my Sako with 139gr scenars.Did you try them yet TB.

no...I was just looking at them though, sitting on my loading bench :D I should stuff in some brass and see what they do

Looking through the '07 Remington Catalogue they've all but abandoned the .260REM for some reason. Only available in a Model 7 CDL, no 700's at all. I wonder what their reasoning is??

Its because the 260 was a complete failure and isn't suited for north american game, hell no one will even use it for Dik Dik in South africa, I guess it might make an alright marmot gun but it still doesn't hold a candle to the .22 rimfire:D

This should be good:popCorn:

the decision to nearly abandon the 260 Remington for 2007 was probably made by the same guy to make the new Titanium a pound heavier and $800 more $, come out with the 770, etc

IIRC Remington was sold to new ownership last year. Looks like the new guys decided to raise prices and cut some stuff out, to replace it with more failures. But hey, we can get Buckmasters Edition SPS's now! ;)

They consulted Sportsman, and that's what we wanted! Heavier, more costly guns!

Didn't the same company (Cerberus) also buy DaimlerChrysler? I won't be buying a new dodge either.

That's why I count myself lucky to have gotten one of the last Sako 75 in .260 from Epps just before chrsitmas. It turning out to be one of the best deals I ever came across. Short, light, accurate liek you would never believe and all for less then 1000.00
