Firearms classification restricted or non restricted? Very gray area!

I can understand being curious about this kind of thing in a hypothetical sense, but in real life you would have to be a total moron to think its a good idea. There is zero possible positive outcome to be had and only a very deep hole of negative possibilities should it turn into a legal issue , or cops get involved. Some of which could have the potential to put spotlights or bad precedent on things that would hurt other gun owners who had nothing to do with your stupid decisions.

This is like barely a half step from "Yeah its legal as long as I dont get caught".

Agreed, I hate getting involved in threads like this but can't help myself because I don't want our sport to get another black eye because people are dumb and do dumb things that are obviously illegal.

Honestly, how can anyone with an RPAL not know that shooting their restricted firearms on private land that is not a certified range is illegal? How can anyone get their RPAL and not know that? Were they sleeping through the entire course then just copied off the guy next to them for the test? I know that the examiners that supervise the test typically want to pass everyone but they really need to think about what passing someone who knows nothing does to our sport.

Threads like these are why I'm tempted over and over to delete the CGN bookmark and why I care less and less about infractions (just got a couple more in the last couple months). Unfortunately or fortunately depending how you look at it the EE and the friends I've made here keep pulling me back.
I need to learn to care less and just let people do things wrong, I just don't want things that others do to cause our stupid government to try to take away more of our freedoms.

Its funny that you malign gun owners for not knowing the law, and yet you dont know that its actually legal to fire restricteds on private property, as long as there is no municipal bylaws that say otherwise.

Its also fallacious and nonsensical to imply that PAL holders who commit criminal acts somehow reflects poorly on gun owners. This is the same guilt by association the antis use to advocate against gun owners.

Normally its easy to avoid these more political legal debates, but in a thread on classification of black guns, it was inevitable regardless of where the thread was started.
