Let’s see those FX-9’s! Haven’t got mine to the range yet but this thing feels great! Broke it down and lubed it good, very little wobble between the upper and lower. How are you making yours your own? Has anyone replaced the hand guard? I bought a 17 UTG rail but I do like the look of the 15” rail it came with. What mags are you using? I'm looking a Magpul Glock mags.

Will finally have a chance to get it out to the range tomorrow to get the Burris red dot and offset buis sighted in . I’ve been cycling the bolt manually a few hundred times to loosen it up.

Any update on the reliability?

Yessir ! After a brief sighting in with the Burris red dot at 50 yards ( works well for the Tac Rifle game ) I sucked it up and joined a small squad running Tac Rifle “ two gun drills “ at relatively close quarters. Of the seven mags I had on hand four ran the LRBHO consistently. They were three 10 round Magpul pmags and the one that came with it , three Glock 10/19 wouldn’t .

124 grain X Metal ( with the “ Hi-Tec coating “ rn bullets ) and locally made reputable CRS commercial reloads at 124 grain with round nose fmj bullets ran flawlessly. Rapid double taps and flat out 10 round mag dump did not present any issues. The pcc was well lubed and the bolt had been manually cycled a few hundred times which I feel helped loosen up the stiff charging handle a bit.

Once the drills were done a buddy who loads pretty soft shooting powder coated 130 grain round nose paper punchers loaded up a couple mags. His first few rounds sounded like they were suppressed , then a few fte occurred not surprisingly.

Initial impressions: I think I can compete with this pcc. Mag loads are going to take some practice and adjustment as not all dropped freely and the reduced size of the well will need getting used to. The stock trigger is not terrible but I’ll look forward to an upgrade down the road. The standard grip must go of course. Less upper/lower play than a S&W MP15 . Fairly soft shooter even with the relatively hot commercial reloads which are probably a good idea for the first 1000 rounds I’m thinking. I hope to lighten the buffer assy to accomidate my own load that works for the G17 as well. I’ll let y’all know how that works out at 100-200 yards which is about where our particular game typically maxes out. The stock handguard is slim and fits well. That small stiff charging handle is a disappointment on an otherwise impressive first effort by Freedom Ordinance for an affordably priced 9mm pcc that checks all the boxes.

Now to get used to pulling handgun mags for the carbine.

Range report: 150 rounds with 3 FTE. All 3 failures were with the same mag that comes with the rifle. Magpul mags were perfect! 100 for 100 with the bolt holding open on the last shot every time. Glock 17 mags were 30 for 30 but the bolt never held open on the last shot. Mag that comes with the rifle was 17 for 20 and the bolt locked open on the last round. I ran the rifle very wet and it shot great! Over all the rifle feels very solid and shots great.

I upgrade a few items, also bought a UTG 17" handguard but decided to keep existing hand guard

Is the FX9 buffer tube mil spec or commercial spec? I like the look of that stock but did you have to change out the buffer tube as well?

It comes with a carbine length mil spec tube, you will need to change the buffer tube to make this stock work, needs a rifle buffer tube and I used the carbine buffer inside with the RRA spacer.

The gun just feels way better and shoulders perfect

Loving my FX9! Still bone stock. Zero failures after 300 rounds.First mod has to be the trigger. I know the manufacturer says beware but my trigger is heavy, gritty, stagey before breaking. Doesn't have to be super light, just clean and smooth. I was thinking ALG ACT Trigger. Any ideas? Thanks.

Was the rifle tube able to get in far enough to retain the buffer retainer? The carbine tubes are threaded in pretty far, so I didn't think a rifle tube would be long enough on the threaded end.

For the mag that comes with the FX-9 (mine is the SGM mag), it was kinda sticky. I inspected it and just grab some sand paper and sand it down a bit. Now it drop free when I push the mag release. Hope this will help.
P.S. my Magpul mags drop flawlessly.
